Abstract
본 발명은 리튬이온을 흡장 및 방출할 수 있는 음극, 리튬 함유 산화물로 된 양극 및 비수 전해액을 구비하는 리튬 이차전지에 관한 것으로서, 상기 리튬 함유 산화물은 리튬 니켈계 산화물을 포함하고, 상기 비수 전해액은 비닐 에틸렌 카보네이트(vinyl ethylene carbonate, VEC) 및 모노 니트릴(mono-nitrile)을 동시에 함유한다. 본 발명의 리튬 이차전지는 양극으로서 리튬 니켈계 산화물을 사용함에 따른 충방전 싸이클 수명특성의 저하현상이 개선될 뿐 아니라, 전지가 만충전 상태(fully-charged state)에서 고온에 보관되거나 충방전이 진행되더라도 전해액의 분해반응이 억제됨으로, 스웰링(swelling) 현상을 개선하여 전지의 고온 수명특성이 향상된다.
