Abstract

Disclosed is an organic EL device (1) comprising an anode (3), a cathode (4) and an organic thin film layer (5) arranged between the anode (3) and the cathode (4). The organic EL device (1) is characterized in that the organic thin film layer (5) has a fluorescent light-emitting layer (51), which is composed of one or more layers and contains one or more fluorescent hosts and two or more fluorescent dopants emitting fluorescent light, and a phosphorescent light-emitting layer (52) containing a phosphorescent host and a phosphorescent dopant emitting red phosphorescent light. The organic EL device (1) is further characterized in that the lowest excited triplet energy gap EgFH of at least one of the fluorescent hosts and the lowest excited triplet energy gap EgPD of the phosphorescent dopant satisfy the following relation: EgPD < EgFH.
