Abstract

This invention with improvements in external figure and structure based on new and different concept for pillow and chairs is intended to create practical convenience in daily life and to minimize the neck and shoulder pain created from usage of uncomfortable pillows in bed and inconvenient chair during long-distance travel. In an aspect of external figure, the invention adopts the concept of 'ergonomic shape hole of head-insert' which they never tried so far. As for the structure, this invention provides insert space hole on the body of applicable objects which 'pillow/headrest' (it has an 'ergonomic shape hole of head-insert') combines with, for easy process of assembly and separation between body and pillow/headrest. Additionally it is designed to maximize the portability and to accommodate the multiple usage by unifying the shape and size of 'pillow/headrest.' This invention promotes the convenience and practicality for everyday use of the pillow and chair. Applicable objects are: 1) bed pillows for sleeping on and pillows for leaning 2) portable pillows in outdoor camping area 3) head cushions on existing reclining chairs 4) headrest on passenger seats of long distance transportations including airplane, ship, train, bus 5) headrest on office chairs and reclining chairs 6) headrest on drivers' seats and assistant drivers' seats of automobile during rest and sleeping after reclining backward 7) headrest function of back seats of the car 8) headrest on sofas In particular, they can reuse the existing chairs by simply remodeling the product; this will be a valuable attempt to benefit both in economic aspects (saving natural resources) and eventually to increase the convenience of customers.

Claims

20AMENDED CLAIMS received at the International Bureau on 30 June 2009 (30.06.2009)+ STATEMENT
[CLAIM 1]
The headrest for a chair with a concave surface developed on the foaming goods, comprising the head support part and the neck support part to back up head and neck respectively:
(a) a concave surface of the said neck support part is like that of cylinder, and a section of the said neck support part crossing at right angle with bottom surface of the said headrest for a chair and planes of symmetry creates the circular arc with the size of 2 to 6 cm; and
(b) the said head support part consists of two parts', the first head support part adjoining the said neck support part and the second head support part adjoining the said first head support part, wherein
(i) the concave surface of the said first head support part is curved, (ii) the concave surface of the said second head support part is that cylinder and a section of the said second head support part crossing at right angle with bottom surface of the said headrest for a chair and planes of symmetry creates the circular arc with the size of 5 to 9 cm, and
(iii) the arc size of the said first head support part connected to the said neck support part accords with that of the sectioned arc on the said neck support part and the arc size of the said first head support part connected with the said second head support part accords with that of the sectioned arc on the said second head support part.
[CLAIM 2]
The headrest for a chair of claim 1, wherein the concave surface of the said first head support part has a spherical curve.

The chair, wherein the headrest for a chair of claim 1 is installed on upper portion of the chair backrest.
[CLAIM 6]
The chair of claim 5, wherein an insert groove is formed on upper part of the said chair backrest inserting of said headrest for a chair and the horizontal section of the said insert groove is a shape of tetragon.
[CLAIM 7]
The chair of claim 6, having tray embedded between the said headrest for a chair and the said chair.
[CLAIM 8]
The chair of claim 7, wherein the said tray consists of a rear part and a flank part: (a) the said rear part of tray adjoins the bottom surface of the said headrest for a chair; the edges of both sides and that of bottom side are extended towards the front direction; a section area of the said extended edges creates an assembling groove which the said flank part of the tray is inserted into, and
(b) the said flank part of the tray adjoins both sides and the neck support part of the said headrest for a chair; the flank part of the tray is fixed into the assembling groove of the said rear part of the tray after the insertion; the opposite edges from the said assembled groove with the rear part of the tray creates the wing reaching out in an outer direction.
[CLAIM 9]
The chair of claim 7 or claim 8, wherein the said flank part of the tray forms the protuberance facing towards the direction of the said headrest for a chair
[CLAIM 10]
The chair of claim 5 or claim 6, wherein
(a) an aid frame to be embedded between the said headrest for a chair and the chair, and
(b) the said aid frame wrapping some portions of bottom, both sides and neck side of the said headrest for a chair.
[CLAIM 11]
The chair of claim 10, wherein
(a) the surface of the said aid frame facing towards the neck support part of the said headrest for a chair provides an assembling pole reaching out to be assembled with the said chair
(b) on one side of the said chair towards the said assembling pole, an assembling hole is formed to be inserted with said assembling pole, and
(c) on the mouth of the said assembling pole and said assembling hole, a component for height adjustment is formed.
[CLAIM 12]
The chair of claim 5, wherein a backrest of the said chair consists of the upper backrest separated from the backrest body and the said backrest body assembled with the said upper separated backrest:
(a) an insert groove is formed on the said upper separated backrest for inserting of the headrest (for a chair) that supports the head, and
(b) the horizontal section of the said insert groove is a shape of tetragon.
[CLAIM 13]
The chair, wherein a backrest of the said chair consists of a upper backrest separated from the backrest body and the said backrest body assembled with the said upper separated backrest:
(a) the said upper separated backrest consists of the foaming device or foaming device with exterior shell, and
(b) the said upper separated backrest consists of the neck support part with concave surface to back up neck and the head support part with concave surface to 22
back up head:
(i) a concave surface of the said neck support part is like that of cylinder, and a section of the said neck support part crossing at right angle with bottom surface of the said upper separated backrest and planes of symmetry creates the circular arc with the size of 2 to 6 cm, and
(ii) the said head support part consists of two parts: the first head support part adjoining the said neck support part; the second head support part adjoining the said first head support part:
- the concave surface of the said first head support part is curved,
- the concave surface of the said second head support part is that cylinder and a section of the said second head support part crossing at right angle with bottom surface of the said upper separated backrest and planes of symmetry, creates the circular arc with the size of 5 to 9 cm, and
- the arc size of the said first head support part connected to the said neck support part accords with that of the sectioned arc on the said neck support part; the arc size of the said first head support part connected with the said second head support part accords with that of the sectioned arc on the said second head support part.
[CLAM 141
The chair of claim 12 or claim 13, wherein
(a) on the bottom part of the said upper separated backrest facing towards the said backrest body, an assembling pole is formed to assemble with the said backrest body of the chair,
(b) on the top part of the said backrest body facing towards the said assembling pole, an assembling hole is created to be assembled with the said assembling pole, and
(c) on the mouth of the said assembling pole and the said assembling hole, a component for height adjustment is formed.
[CLAM 15]
The headrest for a chair of claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the said foaming goods is made of latex-foam, memory-foam, urethane-foam or sponge.
