Abstract

The invention relates to a modular burial system based on the use of large stackable concrete blocks containing cavities serving as burial chambers. The blocks are used to construct large vaults and all of the walls of said vaults are filled with tombs. Individual vaults or groups of vaults form a cemetery. The shape and dimensions of the blocks allows tall funerary monuments to be built, such as pyramids, containing networks comprising numerous walls and passages and having sufficient dimensions to house millions of chambers. The grandeur of these monuments ensures that they will endure over time.

Description

MODULAR BURIAL SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a burial system based on the use of large stackable concrete blocks that have cavities inside that are used as niches for burial.

With the blocks a cyclopean construction of funerary monuments is made, which have the surface of their walls available for niches.

The pantheons thus made will have a minimum cost per grave and will have sufficient dimensions to contain hundreds of thousands or millions of niches, so that they will last in time due to their grandeur.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There are two fundamental aspects that condition the models of current cemeteries: The costs, both of the land and of the construction and conservation, and the permanence over time.

To reduce costs as much as possible, several modular systems have been devised, such as those corresponding to the following patents:

The permanence over time is not resolved by any of them and following the current cemeteries the model of niches for rent, after a few decades the graves are evicted and the remains are finished in an ossuary or mass grave.

EXHIBITION OF THE INVENTION

The object of the invention is to solve the aforementioned problem, by means of a burial system according to independent claim 1, which achieves: Minimum cost of construction and maintenance of niches

- Permanence of the construction over time, due to its grandeur and information that can be stored in it.

The present modular system is characterized by:

Use large resistant blocks that are stackable at high altitude, which have inside the niches in which the remains of the deceased are deposited along with other objects or information that is desired. - Formation of cyclopean walls with these blocks, which are part of the construction of large funerary monuments.

The proposal represents a total innovation compared to existing burial systems, since:

The individual or family tomb is exchanged for pantheons with countless niches. The possibility of stacking blocks in height allows moving from horizontal burials to one in height with high density of niches per m ² of land. The cemetery is made up of one or several funerary monuments with capacity for millions of niches that endure over time due to their grandeur.

The initially planned blocks are made of slightly reinforced concrete, approximate dimensions of one meter wide by one meter high and two meters long, with two niches inside to house the remains of the deceased. With these blocks walls are made that preferably have their two faces accessible.

Initially only blocks are provided to contain ashes, bone remains or mummified bodies, along with personal items such as diaries, videos, photos, and in general any information (in analog or digital system) that you want to give to the "future".

The funerary monuments to be carried out have as their basic objective their permanence over time. For this it is necessary that the conservation costs are minimal and that they awaken some kind of social interest so that they are not abandoned, forgotten and finally destroyed. Some monuments that would fulfill this objective are:

Multi-level maze built with the proposed wall system. The design must be such that it allows its growth over time and that it is a challenge to get out of it without using the evacuation routes that it must have on its sides to be used by those who leave or those who are going to visit a specific niche .

Network of walls and corridors at different levels, in the form of catacombs, which would later be covered with lands to create gardens or a small forest.

- Pyramid with network of corridors that allows the visit of all niches.

The advantages of a cemetery with this burial system are the following:

- Minimum cost of burials, which makes it accessible to the vast majority. Great concentration of niches in small spaces.

- Permanence in time indefinitely, covering the need for respect and not destruction of their remains that people generally have - Data source for the future, keeping a record of all the elements deposited in the niches, which if necessary They could open.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Figure 1 is a section% of one of the type blocks (l), showing the cavity (5) destined to contain the remains of the deceased, the closing covers (2) with the identification data of each niche, and the grooves (3) for coupling between blocks.

Figure 2 shows the lower and upper face of two blocks to show the highlights

(4) and grooves (3) of coupling between them, which serve to fix their position and avoid horizontal displacements. With the distribution indicated in the figure they allow the coupling between blocks in parallel or perpendicular position, with overlaps between them of 25, 50, 75 and 100%. In the upper part of figure 3 the three types of blocks used (A, B and C) appear for the realization of walls and in the lower part a wall made with said blocks is shown and in which it can be seen how they are coupled and hold the blocks in all directions.

Figure 4 shows an example of a funerary monument made with the proposed modular burial: a pyramid. In the upper part there is a vertical section and in the lower one the plants of two consecutive levels. The set shows the arrangement of the walls (6) and the general corridors of the plant (7) as well as auxiliary corridors (8) transverse to those of the plant and that facilitate quick access to all niches. A central hole is left that serves for the construction forklift and lift of the visitors.

Figure 5 shows the system of phases to follow (9, 10 and 11) so that the assembly has an attractive profile throughout the entire construction.

The phase system cannot be carried out only with the central forklift, so in Figure 6 a system of ascending blocks on rails (12) is proposed that are extended to the different levels, making the walls (14) with the help of a motorized crane (13)

DETAILED EXHIBITION OF AN EMBODIMENT

The blocks will preferably be of lightly reinforced concrete, and their manufacture will be in molds according to conventional method, incorporating additives to accelerate the setting, facilitate the decoupling, etc.

The blocks will have a system of recesses in their upper face and projections in the lower one (or inversely), so that they fix their position and avoid horizontal displacements when they overlap to form the walls. The union between blocks is carried out by means of a small amount of mortar for leveling and filling of gaps, so that the joints are sealed to transmit vertical forces well and the filled gaps prevent horizontal slips in case of seismic movements.

The pyramid of the previous example would constitute (alone or together with others) a cemetery model in which the proposed modular burial system can be used. A preferred mode for its execution is analyzed below and serves as an example for any other model.

It will start from a central core made in an initial phase. Its shape will be full pyramid and will have a height of about 20 m, with the central elevator for visitors or used as forklifts to climb the blocks. Successive block layers are added to the four faces of this core, so that harmonious shapes are maintained in their growth. The final construction would have a base of about three hundred meters of side and height around two hundred meters.

For this construction three rows of blocks will be used on each floor, with at least 2.80 m of free height in the corridors. For each niche a volume of 1 m3 is needed and occupying the blocks twice as long as the aisles will have a capacity of about 3.5 million niches for a pyramid of the given dimensions.

To cover the gaps that are formed in the corridors by crossing the walls of correlative plants, concrete plates of about 20 cm thick will be used that have on their lower face the same anchoring system of the blocks and are placed the same as these.

Claims

1, - Modular burial system that is characterized by using large concrete blocks or other resistant materials (1) (figures 1 and 2), which have cavities (5) where the remains of the deceased are stored along with the data, documents or objects that are desired, and that have closing covers (2) in which the necessary identification data are included. The blocks are stackable and with them the construction of large funerary monuments is carried out, for example a pyramid (figure 4), which due to its grandeur, little space required and large amount of stored data can be expected to last indefinitely in time .

2, - Modular burial system according to claim 1, characterized in that the blocks are provided with projections (4) and grooves (3) on their faces, so that they have fixed coupling positions between them and by adding a Small filling layer, horizontal displacement of the blocks is prevented in case of seismic movements.

3, - Modular burial system according to claims 1 and 2, characterized by using blocks of different format (IA, IB and IC) that allow cyclopean walls to be formed with their two accessible faces (figure 3) and in which all the blocks they are held by at least two others, both on their upper and lower faces.

4, - Modular burial system according to claim 3, characterized by using multiple cyclopean walls (figure 3) in parallel arrangement and leaving corridors between them, so that when overlapping successive layers with the perpendicular walls between them, a burial is formed in height very compact and stable, for example a pyramid (figure 4).
