Abstract

A fluid quick connector includes a multi-shot molded seal element fixed in a bore of a connector housing. In one aspect, the seal element is fixed on a carrier which is itself fixedly inserted into the bore of the housing. The seal element may include an inner seal portion disposed on an inner surface of the carrier to engage an endform and a unitary outer seal portion disposed on an outer surface of the carrier to sealingly engage the inner surface of the housing bore. In another aspect, the seal element includes an edge portion disposed about an end of the carrier and unitary with the inner and outer seal portions. In another aspect, the seal element is multi-shot molded within an annular recess in an inner surface of the bore of the connector housing to sealingly engage the endform.
