Abstract

The present invention relates to image processing and particularly to the automatic quantification of changes in images, such as changes in MR or CT images of joints or changes in MR images of the brain. Highly automated methods for the analysis of multiple structures of interest are provided. Methods for automatically delineating bones from images and methods for quantifying size, shape and brightness changes in images are also provided. The invention has wide applicability and can be used, for example, on images of joints, and images of the brain.
