Definitions
- the invention relates to a glass wall used in the building, both as an interior wall and wall with the outside of the building.
- insulating multiple glazing for building partitions, in particular in the separation of offices for the interior, or in verandas in connection with the outside, remains unavoidable in order to achieve acoustic performances and / or thermal.
- These glazings form the total height of the room or are integrated in the upper part of the partition, the lower part of the partition being made of solid material other than glass.
- a conventional insulating glass has its interlayer which is disposed between the glass sheets to a width of about 15 mm from the edge of the glazing.
- the invention has sought to further optimize the penetration of natural light in building rooms, to obtain a maximum of vision, while ensuring stiffness properties, strength, sealing, and retaining thermal and acoustic properties partition elements, wall wall inside or outside the building.
- the invention is characterized by a glass wall intended to be used as a wall or partition comprising at least two insulating glazings, characterized in that each glazing comprises at least two glass sheets spaced by a gas blade and assembled by means of at least one substantially flat interlayer which is secured by one of its faces to the slices of the glass sheets, and in that the glazing is secured by fastening means which cooperate with the spacers placed opposite each of the glazing.
- Glass wall is understood according to the invention by a set of glazings associated with one another, these glazings consisting mainly of glass but may comprise or be coated with other materials such as plastic.
- this type of spacer provides a unitary, monobloc glazing in the manner of a monolithic glazing without risk of sliding of a glass sheet relative to the other in the assembled position of the glazing, that is, that is to say when he rests on his singing.
- the combination of these glazings is a glass wall that provides all the properties of mechanical strength, rigidity that provide the current building partitions, while having the advantage of a continuous transparency in the light on the whole of its surface.
- the securing means are constituted by a bonding joint. This seal preferably has a thickness of between 2.5 mm and 5 mm.
- occultation means are associated with the securing means facing the outside of the wall.
- the securing means consist of a connecting piece fixed by gluing to the spacers.
- the insert has a width extending over the width of the glazing and limited to the outer edges of the slices of the glass sheets the outermost glazing without overlapping the outer faces of said glass sheets.
- the interlayer has a linear rigidity of at least 400 N / m.
- the spacer has on its external face facing the outside, a gas-tight and liquid-proof coating, of the metallic type.
- At least one glazing advantageously integrates, within the accessories gas blade, the blind type slats.
- these glazings comprise functional elements associated with one or more glass sheets, such as surface coatings, plastic films.
- Figure 1 schematically illustrates a wall of the invention integrated in a building room
- FIGS. 3a to 3c are views according to section AA 'of FIG. 1 for respectively three variants of joining of two glazings constituting the wall;
- Figures 4a to 4c are views according to section BB 'of Figure 1 for respectively three variants of fixing the wall to the building room;
- Figure 5 schematically illustrates the placement of the wall in a sectional view.
- FIG. 1 shows a glass wall 1 constituting an interior partition of a building part between a floor 10 and a ceiling 11.
- This wall comprises several insulating glass units 2.
- the glazings are joined one to the other according to their width and their height. corresponding substantially to that of the room.
- a door 12 is associated with the wall for access to the interior of the room.
- Each glazing 2 is constituted as shown in FIG. 2 by at least 2 glass sheets 20 and 21 separated by at least one gas strip 22 by means of at least one flat interlayer 3 which is positioned at outside of the glass sheets.
- the interlayer is, by one of its faces 30, made integral with the slices of the glass sheets extending over the width of the glazing and limited to the outer edges of the slices of the glass sheets the outermost of the glazing without covering the outer faces of said glass sheets.
- This interlayer consists of at least one or more abutting flat profiles having a linear buckling resistance of at least 400 N / m.
- the flat profile has a thickness which preferably does not exceed 1 to 2 mm. Details of implementation are in particular given in the patent application WO 03/040507.
- An example embodiment of a flat profile is an aluminum strip 0.40 mm thick. It bypasses at least 75% of the periphery of the glazing to ensure the mechanical strength of the glass sheets and provide sufficient rigidity so that the behavior of the glazing with external stresses corresponds to that of a monolithic glass.
- the rest of the perimeter of the glazing may comprise a spacer of the same flat type or be associated with any other type of known interlayer usually disposed between the glass sheets, the sealing being made adequately at the junctions of the flat interlayer mostly around the glazing and the other interlayer.
- the interlayer of the upper portion 24 of the glazing may consist of a usual or flat insert with accessories to the inside of the glazing, facing the gas blade, for example slatted blinds.
- the glazing may comprise functional elements providing for example solar control properties, acoustic damping to the wall, such as surface coatings or plastic films with acoustic damping property associated with the glass sheets.
- the glass sheets can also be provided with printed decorations, enamel or obtained by sanding.
- the glass can be tempered, with anti-fire properties ...
- the realization of the wall is performed by the combination of at least two windows 2 ( Figures 3a to 3c) at the level of the flat dividers 3 placed opposite.
- the spacers 3 are assembled to one another by their face 31 (outer face to the glazing) by means of securing means 4.
- the securing means 4 (FIGS. 3a and 3b) are for example a gluing joint of the type cellular foam with double-sided gluing.
- the seal ensures the joining of glazing without giving additional rigidity to the wall. It has a thickness of about 3 to 4 mm to form complementary means of acoustic damping. Furthermore, this thickness is necessary to facilitate disassembly of a glazing and thus its separation from the adjacent glazing without damaging the latter.
- the seal 4 is preferably laid on a substantial part of the thickness of the insert 3 and not on the whole. Indeed, occulting means 5 are arranged on either side of the seal and facing the outside of the wall so as to hide this seal for aesthetic reasons.
- FIG. 3c illustrates connection means 4 such as a connecting piece 40, for example an aluminum tube, of a width adapted to the thickness of the glazings.
- the piece 40 is glued to the spacers 3 of the glazing with a bonding material 41 which is advantageously of the cellular type to provide acoustic damping.
- Each glazing unit 2 is fixed on the one hand to the floor 10 and on the other to the ceiling 11 by means of a base support 6 and a holding element 7, respectively.
- the base support 6 and the holding element 7 respectively comprise a core 60 and a core 70, which are respectively fixed to the floor 10 and to the ceiling 11 by any suitable means 100, respectively 110, screw type, rivets ...
- the support 6 may have various shapes, it allows to receive in support the lower part 23 of the glazing held by wedging, and it ensures the ground flatness of the necessary if the glazing is level.
- FIG. 4a shows a base support 6 in the shape of a U having two flanges 610 and 611 facing each other and arranged at the ends of the core 60.
- the flanges can be an integral part of the U-shaped part or can be attached by clipping.
- the insert 3 of the entire lower side 23 of the glazing rests on the inner bottom 612 of the U-shaped support, the flanges 610 and 611 being placed against the outer faces of the glass sheets 20 and 21 respectively, so that the lower side glazing is kept nested in the U.
- Intermediate acoustic damping means 8 of cellular foam type are advantageously arranged in the U between the glazing and the bottom 612 as well as the wings 610, 611 of the U.
- a seal 9 is attached to the edges of the wings of the U while hiding the foam 8.
- Figure 4b shows a base support 6 substantially similar to that of Figure 4a but being raised. It thus has a parallelepipedal shape preferably hollow with its core 60 and an upper portion 620 parallel and facing the core on which then rests the lower side 23 of the glazing. Side wings 621 and 622 are positioned at the respective ends of the upper portion 620 and in a direction opposite to the core 60 to form a U-shaped support, the wings embracing the outer faces of the glass sheets 20 and 21 respectively of the glazing. Acoustic damping means 8 are provided in the U, between the glazing and the part 620 and the wings 621, 622. And a finishing gasket 9 is also arranged at the edges of the flanges 621 and 622 and means 8.
- the base support of this variant advantageously makes it possible to raise the glazing to a height equivalent to that of a plinth to avoid bumping the glazing, for example by soil cleaning instruments such as a vacuum cleaner.
- the hollow parallelepipedic portion 623 is for example made of an aluminum tube, the recess for example accommodating and routing through the piece of electrical cables.
- the holding element 7 in the two variants of Figures 4a and 4b respectively is identical. It has a U-shaped section comprising a core 70 and two end lateral wings 710 and 711.
- the core 70 is fixed to the ceiling 11 by the means 110, the wings 710 and 711 being directed towards the ground.
- An acoustic and substantially compressible absorbent 71 is arranged in the bottom of the U.
- the upper side 24 of the glazing at the level of the slices of the glass sheets, is intended to be wedged in the holding member 7, being compressed against the absorbent 71, and the wings of the U embracing the glass sheets.
- Intermediate acoustic damping means 8 are advantageously arranged between the glass sheets and the flanges 710 and 711, at their end.
- a finishing joint 9 hiding the inside of the holding element can also be deposited at the edges of the wings 710 and 711.
- FIG. 4c proposes another embodiment of the base support 6 and of the holding element 7 so that no surface of these wall mounting systems protrudes with respect to the external faces of the glazings so that the wall appears smooth from floor to ceiling.
- the base support 6 is thus of equivalent width or substantially less than the width of the glazing. It comprises two profiled sections of U-section, 630 and 640 respectively which cooperate mutually, the U being placed opposite.
- the first piece 630 has the web 60 intended to be fixed to the ground 10 and two lateral wings 631 and 632 respectively. This piece makes it possible to make up for flatness and ground level defects by inserting wedges 650 into the profiled U.
- Intermediate acoustic damping means 8 are advantageously provided in the bottom of the core 60 and against the walls of the wings
- the second piece 640 serves as a cover for wedges 650 and support for the wall. It has a core 641 provided with a groove 644, and two lateral wings
- the two pieces are nested one inside the other so that the U-shaped sections are facing each other; the bottom 645 of the groove of the second piece rests on the wedges 650 of the first piece while the wings
- the groove 644 constitutes a receiving housing for a protruding element 660 that is mounted against the external face of the insert 3 of the lower part 23 of the glazing intended to bear on the base support 6, this element 660 having a shape complementary to that of the groove for its tight fitting in it.
- the outer face of the core 641 is in turn a bearing surface for the rest of the insert 3 of the lower part of the glazing.
- the holding element 7 is similar to the base support 6 for simplicity of the number of parts helping to mount the wall. It also has a width equivalent to or substantially less than that of the glazing. he comprises two U-shaped pieces 730 and 740 which cooperate mutually, the two U being opposite.
- the first piece 730 has its core 731 intended to be fixed by gluing against the insert 3 of the upper part 24 of the glazing, while the core 70 of the second piece is intended to be secured to the ceiling 11 by means 110 which cooperate with the bottom 744 of the groove 743 formed in the core 70.
- the wings 741 and 742 of the second part cover the flanges 732 and 733 respectively of the first part.
- the interior of the two U-shaped sections is filled with an acoustic and substantially compressible absorbent 71.
- the length of the profiles of the base support 6 and the holding element 7 are adjusted.
- the web of the support 6 is fixed to the ground 10 and, opposite, the core 70 of the holding element 7 to the ceiling 11.
- Wedges 650 are placed in the first U-shaped piece 630 of the base support 6 up to a suitable height, without, however, exceeding the height of the lateral wings 631 and 632 of the first piece fixed to the ground, to make up the game that may exist at ground level so that the wall is level once mounted.
- the second piece 640 of the base support 6 is positioned and nested on the first piece 630.
- the protruding element 660 is fixed against the central part of the spacer 3 on the side of the glazing intended to be the lower part 23.
- the glazing element 6 is fixed against the central part of the spacer 3. to be the upper part 24, the first U-shaped part 730 of the holding element 7.
- the glazing can then be biased by inserting the part 730 connected to the upper part 24 of the glazing unit in the second U-shaped part 740 of the ceiling.
- the projecting element 660 By making a tilting movement (arrow 1) while raising the glazing towards the ceiling (arrow 2), then by sliding the glazing perpendicularly and in the direction of the ground (arrow 3), the projecting element 660 then returns by interlocking in groove 644. If this glazing constitutes the glazing of one of the ends of the wall, in connection with the wall of the room, the spacer 3 of the lateral part to be in contact with the wall will have been previously coated with securing means 4.
- the glazing thus in place and fixed to the wall on one of its sides, is coated with adhesive 4 on its opposite spacer 3 of the free lateral part of the glazing.
- a second glazing 2 is set up in the same way as the first while performing a lateral pressure to make it integral with the first glazing.
- the door 12 When the partition is mounted, the door 12 may for example be associated with the glazing of the free end.
- Various fixing means can be envisaged for the door which can for example be mounted on two pivots cooperating respectively with the floor and the ceiling, an additional seal being able to be fixed against the interlayer of the glazing to ensure a seal with the edge of the door in closed position.
- This wall can thus be mounted in any building, with the outside providing in particular a suitable seal, for example with reference to Figures 4a and 4b, the seal 9 will be in a suitable material.
- This wall can also be used indoors as described in the embodiment. It can be fixed, but it can also be sliding.
- the configuration of the wall illustrated in Figure 4c may in particular be used, the projecting element 660 cooperating by sliding in a profile groove fixed to the ground.
