Abstract
The present invention refers to the improvement developed in the packages designed to condition great quantities of sliced meat for human consumption. The improved packaging is formed by an external parallelepipedal wrapping (1) of a reduced height, in which two separate compartments (2) slide to enable the access to only one half of the contents conditioned. An outlining punched line (3) may be made on the wrapping (1) for a quick and easy rip to separate the packaging into two hermetic portions thanks to the internal compartment (2). The external wrapping (1) is preferably formed by a base (11), a top (12), two sidewalls (13), and two top covers (14), thereby forming a hollow parallelepiped. The internal compartment (2) is formed by a bottom part (21), sidewalls (22) and external walls (23), the upper one opening.
Description
TWO COMPARTMENT PACKAGING FOR SLICED MEAT
The present invention refers to an innovative improvement in packages designed for the conditioning of great quantities of sliced meat such as poultry, pork, lamb, beef, goat meat and any other meat for human consumption.
Cardboard boxes are widely used to condition, store, and transport great quantities of sliced meat from the refrigerated trucks to the sales points or homes. Those packages may have a flip-top type of cover or a separate upper cover covering the entire box including the sidewalls. Whenever of another band, packages are to comply with the following essential requirements:
- they must effectively protect the material conditioned inside,
- they must be hard enough to remain whole unto the sales location or final use, - they must enable their stacking,
- they must resist to freezing and thawing,
- they must further an easy removal of their contents,
- they must further the removal of small sections inside the package, thereby preserving the rest of the food in the case of home or commercial uses.
Although the cardboard boxes known for that purpose protect food satisfactorily, they are not very practical to use and are inconvenient for the following reasons:
- they have a single compartment, thereby giving access to the entire contents which are packed as one single lot;
- the cover is of a substantial size and reveals the entire quantity of packed food at once;
- they do not have a system allowing for a partial opening of the package, which would maintain the rest of the packaged contents protected. The purpose of this invention is therefore to present an innovative improvement in packages designed to condition sliced meat overcoming effectively the abovementioned shortcomings encountered at this
stage of technique. This is made possible thanks to a cardboard packaging, which is formed by an external wrapping with two separate sliding compartments, which enable to access only one half of the contents conditioned. For an easier use, the external wrapping may have an outlining punched line, easy to rip open, where both internal compartments join.
The improvement presented in this invention for the packages used to condition sliced meat has the following advantages compared with the other known packages for that purpose:
- they have two separate compartments that give access to only one half of the contents, thereby keeping the other half protected;
- they have one single external wrapping to protect both compartments simultaneously;
- the external wrapping may be ripped open along the outlining punched line, thereby allowing for the use of only one half of the contents; - they enable to split the packaging in the middle any time for a neat and easy storage.
The improvement in packages designed to condition sliced meat in question in the present invention is better understood in the following detailed description, based on the appended drawings that are listed below: Figure 1 - Perspective of the packaging closed;
Figure 2 - Perspective of the packaging split open along the punched line; Figure 3 - Perspective of the packaging with the compartments open; Figure 4 - Lengthwise section of the packaging; Figure 5 - Transversal section of the packaging. Figures 1 to 3 illustrate the improved packaging for the conditioning of sliced meat formed by an external parallelepipedal wrapping (1) of a reduced height. Two separate compartments (2) slide into the wrapping (1) enabling the access of only one half of the contents.
An outlining punched line (3) may be made in the wrapping (1) for a quick and easy rip to separate the packaging into two hermetic portions thanks to the internal compartment (2).
Figures 4 and 5 illustrate the shapes preferably used to
execute the packaging, whose external wrapping (1) is formed by a base (11), a top (12) two sidewalls (13) and two top covers (14) thereby forming a hollow parallelepiped. The internal compartment (2) is formed by a bottom part (21), sidewalls (22) and external walls (23), the upper one opening.
