Abstract

The invention relates to building material industry, in particular to the production of glazed bricks used for building construction and facing buildings and constructions and to a glaze composition. The inventive method for producing glazed bricks consists in preparing a glaze, applying said glaze in the form of a layer to the bricks and in baking. Said method provides for the use of a low-melting glaze whose melting point is less than 750 °C. Said glaze is applied to a pre-baked brick. When the glaze is applied, the baking is carried out in stoves provided with heat-radiation heaters at a temperature ranging from 700 to 750 °C during 10-20 minutes. The inventive method and glaze make it possible to produce a glazed brick at a low temperature and in a shot baking time. The thus produced brick ensures the good glaze adherence to the surface thereof and exhibits a high frost resistance and excellent decorative characteristics.
