Abstract

The invention relates to a sports equipment item comprising a handle (3) for holding and controlling the sports equipment item, and a traction device (5) which is actively connected to the handle (3) and which, in an active state, exerts a tractive force onto the handle and onto an object (7) coupled thereto. The handle (3) is provided with a safety device (9) which deactivates the traction device (5) once a threshold value of the tractive force is reached.
