Abstract

A burner plate (13) used in the domestic appliances (6), preferably the cooking devices in order to perform heating, cooking, toasting or grilling functions, comprising one or more burner recesses (7), characterized with one or more toast grills (1) placed in the burner recesses (7).

Description

A BURNER PLATE

The present invention relates to a burner plate comprising a toasting grid that is used in domestic appliances, preferably in cooking devices.

In the state of art, one or more burner recesses provided on the burner plates are used for heating and/or cooking, in the domestic appliances, for instance in the cookers-on-the work bench or in the ovens. Said burner recesses may be operated electrically or by inflammable gas. As the gas-or electrical-burner assembly is not detachable from the cooker or the oven, its cleaning creates a problem.

The toasters or toaster-grill machines of the state of art are used for making toasts or grills. Generally the electrical toasters are used as separate units and occupy a space in the kitchen.

In the US Patent No. 3848110, a portable electrical grill that is used separately without being integrated to a cooking device, is described.

In the US Patent No. 4210072, a portable cooker consisting of more than one layer that is used separately without being integrated to a cooking device, is described.

In the US Patent No. 5586488, a portable pizza oven performing the baking process between the upper and lower heaters that is used separately without being integrated to a cooking device is described.

In the French Patent Application No. 2789598, a grill or wafer maker with a double directional heater that is used separately without being integrated to a cooking device is described. The object of the present invention is to realize a cooking unit that can be used separately and/or as integrated in the domestic appliances, preferably in cooking devices, both for heating and for cooking, as well as for toasting and making grills.

The burner plate realized to attain the above object of the present invention has been illustrated in the attached drawings, wherein;

The domestic appliances (6), preferably the cooking devices are provided with a burner plate (13) in order to perform heating and/or cooking functions. Said burner plate (13) comprises one or more burner recesses (7). A burner assembly (14) suitable to the type of the heat source used, such as electricity or inflammable gas, that provides heating and/or cooking, is placed on the burner plate (13).

The burner plate (13) according to the present invention comprises, one or more toast grills (1) placed in the burner recess (7) and one or more socket recesses (8) placed in the burner recess to (7), provide the operation of said toast grill (1). The toast grill (1) consists of a body (3) and one or more opening closing covers (2) attached on the body (3). On the body (3) and/or cover (2), one or more handles or more control panels (9) providing the operation and control of the grill (1); one or more heating surfaces (15) in flat or curved forms, to provide cooking and/or heating, and one or more sockets (5) suitable to the socket recess (8), are provided.

Said toast grill (1) may be fixed to the burner plate (13) or be removably attached to the burner recess (7) to be used together with the cooking device (6) or separately. In the preferred embodiment, the toast grill (1) is electrically operated and can be used together with the burner plate (13) or portably. In cases when the toast grill (1) is used separately from the burner plate (13), it is operated by the mains voltage, by means of a voltage cable (12) with a recess suitable to the socket (5).

The control panel (9) comprises one or more buttons (10) to control the heating surfaces (15) and one or more luminous indicators (11) showing the state of usage of the toast grill (1) to the user. When the toast grill (1) is used separately from the burner plate (13) the control panel (9) provides the control of the toast grill (1). When the toast grill (1) is used together with the burner plate (13), it can be used by the user and/or it can be controlled and monitored over the control panel on the burner plate (13).

In the preferred embodiment, one heating surface (15) each is placed on the cover (2), below the cover (2) and on the body (3). The heating surfaces (15) on and below the cover (2) are preferably heated by the same resistance, which in turn provides simplicity in production, a decrease in the weight of the product, a decrease in the dimensions of the product and an economic advantage in the product cost. The user can choose to perform cooking by heating only the heating plate on the cover or to make toasts or grills by heating the heating plates below the cover and/or on the body. The burner plate (13) can be used alone, separately or can be fixed to any domestic appliance such as on oven or a dishwasher.

By virtue of the fact that it can be used independently of the burner plate (13), the users can easily clean the burner plate (13) and the toast grill (1).

As the burner plate (13) can be used as integrated to the toast grill (1) or independently, it offers the user, the freedom and comforts of use such as, occupying less space, cooking where the user desires or being able to perform several functions at the same time.

Claims

1. A burner plate (13) used in the domestic appliances (6), preferably the cooking devices in order to perform heating and/or cooking functions, comprising one or more burner recesses (7), characterized with one or more toast grills (1) placed in the burner recesses (7).

2. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claim 1, characterized with a toast grill (1) that comprises a body (3) and one or more opening/closing covers (2) attached on the body (3).

3. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 and 2, characterized with one or more heating surfaces (15) in flat or curved forms, to provide cooking and/or heating, provided on the body (3) and/or cover (2).

4. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 3, characterized with a toast grill (1) that may be fixed to the burner plate (13) or be removably attached to the burner recess (7) to be used together with the cooking device (6) or separately.

5. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 4, characterized with one or more socket recesses (8) to be placed in the burner recess (7), to provide the required voltage for the operation of said toast grill (1).

6. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 5, characterized with one or more sockets (5) suitable to the socket recess (8), provided on the body (3) and/or cover (2).

7. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 6, characterized with one or more handles (4) to facilitate the use and/or transportation of the toast grills (1) provided on the body (3) and or cover (2).

8. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 7, characterized with one or more control panels (9) providing the operation and control of the grill (1) provided on the body (3) and/or cover (2).

9. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 8, characterized with one or more buttons (10) to control the heating surfaces (15) and one or more luminous indicators (11) showing the state of usage of the toast grill (1) to the user.

10. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 9, characterized with a toast grill (1) that is operated by the mains voltage, by means of a voltage cable (12) with a recess suitable to the socket (5).

11. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 -to 10, characterized with a heating surface (15) provided on the cover (2), below the cover (2), and on the body (3).

12. A burner plate (13) as defined in Claims 1 to 11, characterized with a burner plate (13) that can be used alone, separately or can be fixed to any domestic appliance such as an oven or a dishwasher.
