Abstract

A receiver (100) for receiving a plurality of input signals (102) includes a host processor (106) coupled to a plurality of sub-processors (108) and (110). Control software for all processors resides in the non-volatile memory of the host processor (106), and may be downloaded to slave processors (108) and (110) via a memory means (116) and (118) respectively. The slave processors may be set to a first or second condition by means of a communication channel (114) and (116) respectively between the master processor and the first and second slave processors.
