Abstract

A method of trading IP bandwidth using a global computer network-based platform. The method includes establishing a plurality of connections between a first router (222) and a plurality of additional routers (1406, 1412). The method further includes the step of specifying a plurality of parameters that are descriptive of IP bandwidth services. The platform receives from a seller (14004) an offer to provide a quantity of IP bandwidth and from a buyer (1402) an order to buy the quantity of IP bandwidth. The platform then creates a route plan defining a set of routes for transmitting data traffic between the buyer's and seller's networks.
