Abstract

A shirt comprising a map for directing any given wearer of the shirt in any given place; the map being so depicted on the shirt as to be readable by the wearer and possibly also by at least one person substantially facing the wearer.

Description

GUIDE-MAP SHIRT
The present invention relates to a guide-map shirt.
As is known, a map is very often required to find one's way around strange places, such as towns, museums, airports, hotels, exhibitions, funfairs, sports grounds, zoos, etc.
Maps, however, have the drawback of being bulky and awkward to consult and carry. Consulting a map, in fact, calls for the use of both hands, with obvious practical difficulties for the user.
Shirts depicting maps are known, but cannot be used for guidance purposes on account of the maps not being readable by the wearer, and therefore being purely decorative.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a guide-map shirt designed to eliminate the aforementioned drawbacks .
According to the present invention, there is provided a guide- map shirt as defined in Claim 1.
The invention is designed to provide an ideal means of directing any given person in any given place, and to enable conventional paper maps showing a graphic representation of a given place to be replaced with a shirt wearable by any given person and depicting an "upside-down" map, i.e. so oriented as to be readable by the wearer.
More specifically, the map is depicted on the shirt in such a way as to be readable by the wearer without being taken off, thus enabling the wearer to find his or her way around any given place, such as a town, park, sports ground, or any place requiring directions . The guide-map shirt is characterized technically by the way in which the map is oriented with respect to the wearer.
More specifically, the map is oriented on the shirt in an "upside-down" position, i.e. so that any writing comprising letters and/or numbers and/or illustrative details and/or any directional symbols on the map in general is oriented with the base facing the head of the wearer.
The wearer is thus able to read, from his or her own perspective, any "upside-down" writing (e.g. letters or illustrative details) representing information on the map.
In a variation not shown, in addition to the aforementioned "upside-down" writing, the guide-map shirt preferably, though not necessarily, also comprises "upright" writing oppositely oriented with respect to the "upside-down" writing, i.e. depicted on the guide-map shirt so as to be readable by at least one person facing the wearer.
The map depicted on the shirt therefore comprises first ("upside-down") writing readable by the wearer, and second ("upright") writing readable by at least one person facing the wearer.
More specifically, "upright" writing is intended to means letters and/or numbers and/or illustrative details and/or any symbols on the map in general, which are oriented with the base facing the feet of the wearer.
The "upright" writing is therefore readable by at least one person facing the wearer.
The map is thus readable by both the wearer and simultaneously by anyone substantially facing the wearer. The guide-map shirt depicting an "upside-down" map has the advantage of providing a satisfactory, straightforward solution to the drawbacks of currently used guide means .
More specifically, the map depicted on the shirt is readable from more than one side, thus enabling it to be consulted by both the wearer reading the first ("upside-down") writing, and by at least one person substantially facing the wearer and reading the second ("upright") writing.
Finally, the guide-map shirt depicting an "upside-down" map has the advantage of providing an easy- and ready-to-use map, which eliminates the bulk of currently used paper maps and is less awkward to consult by permitting handfree reading.
