Tit le : Gri l l
The invention relates to a grill comprising a frame with a number of legs, a burner centrally disposed m the frame, a connecting nipple for a fuel can, which connecting nipple is m fluid connection with the burner via a fuel line, a water tray having a central opening and an annular water reservoir which is open at a top side, the burner being located under or m the central opening when the water tray is in an operative condition, and comprising a grill plate which m an operative condition extends above the water tray and the burner.
Such grill is known from European patent publication EP-B-0 768 056. It concerns, as in the present case, a table grill. A drawback of the known table grill is that the grill plate supplied therewith, and the pan which is moreover present and which may also serve as a lid, form loose parts and should therefore be stored separately during the transport of the table grill. As a consequence, the known table grill occupies much space during transport. To reduce the space as much as possible, the legs of the frame are pivotally connected to the housing part of the frame, m which housing part the burner is accommodated. However, such solution leads to a rather unstable construction, which in respect of a table grill is a particularly great drawback. The object of the invention is to provide a grill of the type described in the preamble, without the above- described drawbacks. To this end, according to the invention, the grill is characterized m that in the frame, means are present for accommodating at least the water tray and the grill plate, m a storage condition, m an area bounded by the legs and fixing them therein
In this manner, the area which is bounded by the legs and which would occupy space m a rucksack or bag anyway, is utilized m a favorable manner by storing therein the water tray and the grill plate during transport. Moreover, by said means, the water tray and the grill plate are fixed m the
area bounded by the legs, so that the grill parts remain together and do not spread through the rucksack or bag. The grill according to the invention can be used as a table grill but also as a grill that is placed on the ground. According to a further elaboration of the invention, said means may comprise hook means adjacent the ends of the legs of the frame, which hook means are arranged for engaging the grill plate. Thus, the water tray can be clamped between the bottom side of the frame and the grill plate. According to a further elaboration of the invention, to enable the hook means to engage the grill plate, they can be connected to extendible leg parts. The extendible leg parts provide the possibility of disposing the grill m a high position and a low position. Moreover, m the high position, a greater, i.e. higher, fuel can may be connected to the connecting nipple, to obtain a longer burning time. Before the water tray and the grill plate are brought into the storage condition, the extendible leg parts are brought into an extended condition. After that, the water tray and the grill plate are placed m the area bounded by the legs, whereupon the extendible leg parts are subsequently brought into their retracted condition, m which retracted condition the hook means engage the grill plate. It goes without saying that the hook means may also be arranged for engaging the water tray.
According to a further elaboration of the invention, the grill may also be provided with a pan having a substantially concave and a substantially convex side, which pan, m a first operative condition, is placed on the grill plate with its concave side facing down, which pan, m a second operative condition, is placed directly on the frame with its concave side facing up without the presence of the water tray and/or the grill plate, while m a storage condition, the pan is stored m the area bounded by the legs Hence, according to this further elaboration of the invention, if the grill is provided with such a pan, which
may also serve as a lid, it is also possible to store this pan m said area between the legs as well, which simplifies the transport of the grill considerably.
Further elaborations of the invention are described m the subclaims and will hereinafter be further specified with reference to the drawing.

Figs. 1-3 show th frame 1 of a table grill according to the invention, whi^h frame comprises three legs 2. Mounted in the frame 1 is a burner 3, centrally arranged in the frame 1. Via a fuel line 15, a connecting nipple 16 for fιttιng~a fuel can 4 is m fluid connection with the burner 3. On the frame 1, a water tray 5 with a central opening 6, as shown in Figs. 4 and 5, can be placed. In the water tray 5, recesses 17 have been provided which, m the operative condition of the water tray 5, partially include the water tray supports 18 of the frame 1, enabling the water tray 5 to be placed on the frame 1 m a stable manner. The water tray 5 further comprises a water reservoir 7 m which a layer of water can be included and m which fat and condensed water, released during grilling, is collected, so that the cleaning of the table grill is particularly simple. On the water tray 5, a grill plate 8, shown in Figs. 6 and 7, can be placed. In the operative condition, the grill plate 8 extends above the water tray 5 and the burner 3. The present exemplary embodiment further comprises a pan 11, shown m top plan view m Fig 8 and m side elevation m Fig. 9. In a first operative condition, the pan 11 can be placed on the grill plate 8 with its concave side facing down, and can m that position serve as a lid. In a second operative condition, the pan 11 can be placed directly on the water tray supports 18 of the frame 1 and actually serve as a pan.
Fig. 10 shows, m perspective, a part of the frame 1 with the burner 3 and a fuel can 4, with the control knob 12 being clearly visible. Integrated into the control knob 12 is an ignition button 20 which, by depressing it as shown m Fig. 11, generates a spark adjacent the burner 3. By means of the control knob 12 , the amount of fuel fed to the burner 3 can be controlled through rotation thereof. Fig 12 again shows, in detail, a leg 2 of the frame 1 Included m the legs 2 are leg parts 10, which is also
visible in Fig. 1, which leg parts can be extended. For this purpose, the leg parts 10 are provided with two projections 21, 22 engaging a recess 23 m the leg 2. By depressing the projection 22, as shown m Fig. 13, the leg part 10 can be extended until the projection 21 slips into the recess 23. In this manner, it is possible to dispose the frame 1 m a h±gh position and a low position. At a bottom end, the leg parts 10 are provided with hook means 9 serving to fix the pan 11, the water tray 5 and the grill plate 8 m a storage condition in the area bounded by the legs 2. This storage condition is shown m Fig. 17, which clearly demonstrates m what manner the grill plate 8, the water tray 5 and the pan 11 are fixed m the area bounded by the legs 2.
Figs. 15 and 16 show the table grill in an operative condition, while in Fig. 15, the water tray 5 and the grill plate 8 are placed on the frame 1, and m Fig. 16, the pan 11 is placed upside down on the grill plate to form a lid. As shown m Fig. 1, a thermocouple 13 is disposed adjacent the burner 3, which thermocouple is connected to a safety valve 14 m the fuel line 15, which safety valve 14 is closed off when the thermocouple 13 detects the extinguishing of the blame at the burner 3.
It may be understood that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment described and that various modifications are possible within the framework of the invention. Optionally, the water tray could be omitted, so that the grill is only provided with a grill plate, possibly m combination with a pan, which may also be used as a lid
