Abstract

Disclosed is a folding table tennis table (10) that is compactly packageable and that can be easily assembled for use in playing the game of table tennis, without the need for tools. The folding table (50) is provided with two playing surface sections (12, 14) each having a pair of leg members (26) and a pair of attachment members (40) pivotally connected thereto. A pair of pedestal members (22) is also provided, and each pedestal member (22) is connectable to an attachment member (40) of each of the playing surface sections (12, 14) to support the interior side (30) of the folding table (10). When packaged, the leg members (26) and attachment members (40) are folded flat, resting flush against the bottom side (28) of the respective playing surface section (12, 14) to which they are attached and not extending beyond the perimeter of the stated playing surface section. One of the pedestal members (22) also rests flush against each of the playing surface sections (12, 14) between the leg members (26) thereof. In assembling the folding table (50), the pedestal members (22) are receivably joined with the attachment members (40) without the need for tools. The folding table (50) is transitionable between a playing configuration in which the playing surface sections (12, 14) are horizontally oriented and a compact storage configuration in which the playing surface sections are in a vertical orientation with the leg members (26) and attachment members (40) positioned flush against the playing surface sections (12, 14).
