Abstract

A bulletproof vest (50, 152) constructed to be spaced from the body of a wearer, i.e., not in intimate contact with the body of the wearer, thereby to improve both protectiveness and ventilation; a spacing garment (100) to effect same; and an insert (150) adapted to enlarge an existing bulletproof vest to a larger size to effect same.
