Abstract
A transmission arrangement on an in the agriculture used linkage mounted PTO driven equipment, preferably a mower conditioner, which cutting head (4) is offset compared to the tractor and pendulum mounted, and where the cutting head is turned behind the tractor in the transport position, and where a big enough overlapping for the profiles of the telescopic drive shaft (8) in the working position is ensured by pulling the primary gear box (6) closer to the secondary gear box (7) when the cutting head (4) is turned out to the side of the tractor.
Description
Transmission arrangement
The following invention is related to a linkage mounted machine used in the agriculture, which working head is sideways offset corresponding to the tractor and pendulum supported. preferably a mower conditioner, where the working head is turned back in the transport position and where the primary gearbox automatically slide aside to give space for the secondary drive shaft when the working head turn backward to the transpon position.
There are today on the market a relatively big number of three linkage mounted mower conditioners with a main frame, a cross beam to carry the cutting head in the working position beside the tractor and in the transport position behind the tractor. By most of these machines the arrangement between working position and transport position is made manually, and by this the telescopic drive shaft between the primary and the secondary gear box is dismantled. This because the distance between the primary and the secondarv' gear box in the transport position will be too small to give space for the telescopic drive shaft.
So is the case by for example ELHO NM 240. Kuhn FC 202. John Deere 1340. Junkkari LN 245. Nokka Grassliner 240.
By for example the Pottinger Cat Nova mower conditioners this problem with the length of the telescopic shaft has been solved by the arrangement between working position and transport position, that as well the primary as the secondary gear boxes both turn around a vertical axis. Therefore by this machine there will remain enough space for the telescopic drive shaft also in the transport position. The disadvantage by this solution is that one has been forced to place the vertical turning axis so far to the left, that the cutting head of the machine (and thereby the centre of gravity) will come too far to the rear to give enough stability by road transport. Therefore this machine is also equipped with a possibility to lift the cutting head up in a vertical position to improve the stability. This solution to turn the cutting head as well to the rear as up is however complicated and therefore expensive in the production. From the EP 92610028.0 we know an other machine where the arrangement from the working to the transport position can be done without to remove the telescopic drive shaft between the primary and the secondary gear boxes. By the arrangement to the transport position by this the to the tractor pointing end of the cutting head is lifted up under the cross beam to give an oblique position for the telescopic drive shaft and in this way give it enough space. However this solution has the big disadvantage, that simultaneously when the to the tractor pointing end is lifted up the other end more apart from tractor will tilt down. Hereby the practical ground clearance will be reduced, which will give problem by driving in transport particularly in uneven conditions, for example by the usual height differences between field and road. To bring a solution for this problems a transmission arrangement has been developed, where the primary gear box on the linkage frame is slid to the side by the arrangement between the transport and the working position to create space for the telescopic drive shaft between the two near boxes.
With the use of a transmission arrangement according to the following invention a remarkable improvement to the above mentioned problems is found
To receive this the invention is recognised bv what is known from the first patent claim
~>
The most important advantage of the innovation is that it is not necessary to dismantle the telescopic drive shaft between the primary and the secondary gear box duπng the arrangement between the transport and the working positions and that the machine hereby will be more safe and easy to use 0
Below the innovation is described by use ot the following principal drawings
Fig 1 shows a rear view of a typical mower/mower conditioner with the cutting head in the working position with the telescopic drive shaft mounted 5
Fig 2 shows the same machine from the top
Fig 3 shows the same machine in the transport position from the top
0 Fig 4 shows a pπncipal drawing of the side slid mechanism ot the primary gear box
The machine in the fig 1 -4 consist of main frame 1 connected to the tractor three point linkage, a boom 3 which is possible to turn around a vertical shaft 2. and which carry the cutting head 4 To be able to follow the unevenness of the ground the cutting head 4 is 5 pendulum mounted to the boom 3 in the horizontal joint 5 On the main frame 1 is provided a pπmary gear box 6 mounted in a wav. that it can be slid to the side on the governors 10 The secondary gear box 7 is mounted on the cutting head 4 and is |oined to the primary gear box bv means of the telescopic shaft 8 Between the turning boom 3 and the gear box 6 there is provided a junction 9 0
The transmission arrangement according the present invention operate in the following manner The minimum length of the telescopic shaft is adapted to fit between the primary gear box 6 and the secondary gear box 7 when the machine is in the transport position (Fig 3 ) When the cutting head 4 is turned out in the working position the junction 9 pulls the primary 5 gear box to the right so that the gear box comes closer to the secondary gear box 7 This make it possible to keep a big enough overlapping on the profiles of the telescopic shaft 8 to make a safe transmission of the power possible, which the cutting head 4 need in work The invention is not limited to the above described form, but a lot of varieties of the same is possible within the scope ot the patent ciaims below 0
