- the present invention relates to an arrangement for securing a post in a foundation, especially for road signs, said foundation being provided with a vertical hole to receive the root of the post, and fastening means for locking the post to the foundation.
- Posts, and especially road signs which are placed close to or in a traffic artery, are liable to be knocked down by a car so that the post is bent or broken and has to be replaced.
- the fastening means for locking the post to its foundation at present comprises a ring which is secured to the top of the foundation by the aid of bolts and which clamps an 0-ring of rubber down towards the top of the foundation, so that the latter expands radially and is firmly clamped to the root of the post.
- Bolts are screwed into threaded bushings which are cast into the top of the foundation which consists of concrete. If hit, the concrete around the lining will often break up and the bushing will work loose. It will then be impossible to secure a new post for a road sign in the existing foundation. The resposible services then have to dig up the old foundation and cast a new one.
- an object of the present invention to propose an arrangement rendering it easier to secure a post to a foundation or to provide a new post on a foundation which was destroyed in a manner as mentioned above. It is another object of the invention to propose a fastening means for a post on a foundation which is less subjected to destruction.
- Posts e.g. for road signs may, consequently, be erected in a simplified and less expensive manner. The same is true of replacement of damaged posts, e.g. for road signs.

- this is achieved by an arrangement of the kind as mentioned above, which is characterized by a journal which is adapted to the hole in said foundation, by the fact that a rubber means is provided at one end of said journal, which rubber means has the same or substantially the same cross sectional dimension as the journal, that a screw passes through said rubber means, which screw is secured to the end of said journal and is intended for cooperation with a plate or the like with a threaded hole for axial compress ⁇ ion of the rubber means so that the latter expands radially towards the wall of the hole in said foundation, and that said plate is provided with fastening means for securing the post.
- fastening means for firmly securing the post comprise a locking plate or locking disk with the same or approximately the same cross sectional dimension as the first mentioned plate, with a central threaded hole intended for engagement with the screw, and that the post or an element intended to be connected with the post is permanently fastened to said locking plate.
- An embodiment of the invention is characterized by the fact that the post or the element which is intended for connection with the post is secured to the locking plate by the aid of a resilient intermediate member.
- said intermediate member consists of a rubber means which is secured to the locking plate on one side, and the post or an element which is intended for connection with the post is embeded in the rubber means from the opposite side.

- the conventional fastening means comprises a concrete foundation 1, which is embedded or cast in the ground 2. Centrally in foundation 1 a hole 3 is provided to be vertical in a mounted position and to receive root 4 of post 5. At the upper end of foundation 1 two or more sleeves 6 and 7 are embedded in the cast with a threaded hole 8 opening upwards. A ring 9 with a downwards concave annular groove 10 is slipped onto root 4 of the post for cooperation with a rubber ring 11. By the aid of head bolts
- the embodiment shown in Figure 2 constitutes a first embodiment of an arrangement according to the invention, which is used to secure a new post, e.g. for a road sign.

- the arrangement may also be used for erecting a post the first time, e.g. for a road sign. In this manner a less expensive foundation is achieved, since it is not necessary to embed threaded sleeves 6, 7 by casting.
- journal 4 is provided, with a screw 16, a rubber sleeve 18, a plate 17, and a locking plate 19. In this case, however, the locking plate is not secured directly to post 5.
- a journal 20 is secured to locking plate, via a rubber means 21, which is vulcanized onto locking plate 19 at one side. From the other end of rubber means 21 journal 20 is embedded and ancored in the rubber means by the aid of a plate 22 which is provided transversally.
- Journal 20 has a dimension fitting into the pipe-shaped post 5 and is locked to said post by the aid of one or a plurality of set screws 23.

Abstract
Dans l'agencement décrit, qui sert à fixer à un socle (1) un poteau (5), tel que notamment un poteau de signalisation routière, le socle (1) comporte un tour vertical (3) destiné à recevoir la base (4) du poteau, ainsi qu'un organe de fixation servant à assujettir le poteau au socle. L'agencement comprend un tourillon (14) adapté au trou (3) du socle (1). A une extrémité du tourillon est placé un manchon en caoutchouc (18), dont la section transversale est égale ou approximativement égale à celle du tourillon (14). A l'extrémité du tourillon (14) est fixé une vis filetée (16), qui est destinée à passer à travers le manchon (18) et sur laquelle est destinée à être vissée une plaque (17) présentant un trou fileté, pour permettre une compression axiale de l'organe en caoutchouc, ce qui produit une expansion radiale de ce dernier vers la paroi du trou ménagé dans le socle. Un organe de fixation est prévu sur la plaque (17) pour l'assujettissement du poteau. L'organe de fixation pour l'assujettissement du poteau comprend une plaque de blocage (19), dont la section transversale est égale ou approximativement égale à celle de la première plaque mentionnée et qui présente un trou fileté centrale dans lequel est destinée à s'engager la vis. Le poteau ou un élément destiné à être raccordé au poteau est assujetti de façon permanente à la plaque de blocage (19). Le poteau ou l'élément destiné à être raccordé au poteau peut être assujetti à la plaque de blocage (19) via un élément intermédiaire résilient (18).
