Abstract
THE ADDITION OF 0.05 TO 1% BY WEIGHT OF CARBON BLACK TO ULTRA HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYETHYLENE RESULTS IN IMPROVED PHYSICAL PROPERTIES AS WELL AS EXTREMELY GOOD RF HEATING CHARACTERISTICS. THE IMPROVEMENT IN PHYSICAL PROPERTIES APPEARS AS IMPROVEMENT IN WET SAND ABRASION INDEX, DOUBLE NOTCHED IZOD IMPACT STRENGTH, TENSILE STRENGTH AND YIELD STRENGTH. IMPROVEMENTS OF 5 TO 25% AND MORE IN EACH OF THESE PARAMETERS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF CARBON BLACK.
Description
