To all whom. it may concern Be it known that we, JosEriI lrr'rs and .limits K. PrrTs, of McLean, in the county oMeLoan und in the Stute oi' lllinois, have invented a certain new und useful Design for a Goal-Holl; und do hereby declare that the following is a full, eleor, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the neconipairying drawing ninkinga partei' this specification, in which is shown a perspective side View oi' our improved conlhod.

The sides of the llod are drawn in from the top to the bottom, and the base flares a little from top to bottom.
The advantage of the square front consists in the lirm bearing it give-s to the hod, when placed upon a stove, for discharging its contents; of the raised sides, in conforming closely to the gravity slope ofthe coals when the hod is filled, whereby there is less danger oi'spilliug the coals over any ol' its sides; ol' the n1 ward iront slope to the sides, in that, when the renr ol'tho hod is raised in the act ot' pouring out coals, this slope conl'ornis eloseliV lo the vertical sides ol a stove, nud therej is less risk ol' the couls falling over the [ront sides ol' the hod upon the lloor. ln uddition to these usel'nl results ol' the peculiar shape, ol'
