DESIGN FOR A RAIL-BOND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,019, dated December 19, 1899.
Application filedNovember 15, 1899. Serial No. 737,136. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, CHARLES J. MAYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new, useful,and original Design for a Rail-Bond, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in Wlll0l1- Figure 1 is a top or plan view of a rail-bond of the design of my invention, and Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. i
The leading feature of my design consists of the particular shape or configuration and arrangement of the bond.
Referring to the drawings, CL and a represent the end block-like devices curved at a and 0, and provided with flaring lips a and a and with transverse projections b and b.
c and c are nested metal strips connected with the ends a and a, and respectively provided with bends or ofisets d and 'd',whereof the bend or offset d is substantially U shape and the bend or offset (1' is substantially V shape, and both offsets or bends located nearer to one end block than to the other and with irregi'ilar-shaped openings 6 and 0' formed therein within the longitudinal outline of the nested metal strips, the ofiscts or bends being confined within the longitudinal plane of said strips and the latter where joined to the blocks a and a being disposed and extending beyond the plane of said blocks,as clearly illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawings.
Having thus described my inventiomwhat I claim as new,and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a rail-bond, herein shown and described.
