SUSPENDING-TAB FOR GARMENTS.

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, PAUL GALLREIN, a subject of the King of Saxony, residing at lVIai-kneukirchen, in the Kingdom of Saxony, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspendingrlabs for Garments, of which the following is a specification.

The tabs commonly used for the suspension of garments from hooks or pegs are liable to be torn from the clothing and to become worn through by reason of the fact that the friction incurred always takes place at the same part of the tab, namely midway between the ends of the same.

The object of the present invention is to remove these disadvantages, and to prevent accidental detachment of the tab. Inasmuch as the tab can move freely in two holes or eyes, all parts thereof are subjected to equal wear, and the life of the tab is by this means lengthened. In case of need a broken tab of this kind may be replaced by a piece of string. The tab may consist of cord, tape, leather or the like, or of a metal chain. For protecting the edges of the holes in the garment, a perforated strip or plate of strong material may be fastened to the perforated part of the garment and said plate may have tubular bosses extending through the holes, or two strips or plates may be used, one at each side of the perforated material of the garment.

One of the several possible embodiments of my invention is illustrated in the drawings which accompany and form a part of this specification in which- I+`igure 1 is a section of the reinforcing strips before application to the garment, Fig. 2 is asection of my improved device, and Fig. 3 is a plan View with the tab omitted.

3 represents an endless tab which passes through the eyelets as shown. The outer portion of the tab is normally concealed by the collar of the garment. Il desired a strip of material may he attached to the garment to cover this portion of the tab and conceal it when the collar is turned up.

The combination with a garment having two tab-holes, of reinforcing strips having perforations registering with said tabholes and arranged on opposite sides of the garment, eyelets passing through said tabholes and perforations, and an endless tab passingthrough said eyelets.

2. The combination with a garment having two tab holes, of reinforcing strips having' perforations registering with said holes and arranged on opposite sides of the garment, eyelets integral with one of said strips passing through said tab-holes and the perforations in the coperating strip, and an endless tab passing through said eyelets.
