Be it known that I, CHARLES C. TANNERT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Top-Spinning Devices, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a device for spinning tops of that character consisting of a cord on which is freely movable a button or Winder for permitting the cord to be readily Wound on the top at the required tension and at great speed Without the fingers becoming sore by the passage of the cord overv the iinsection of the Winder.

Having thus described the invention, what l claim is A top spinning appliance comprising-.an elongated body tapered at its ends and pro- "vided"ataecentrajpoint with a transverse opening, and at opposit'ends with longitudinally inclined lipe'nings which communicate at their inner ends with the respective Avopposite ends of the transverse opening, the i' outer Vends Yo-E nthedongitudnially inglined openings extending centrally through the extremities of the' body, and' the inner ends of said longitudnaly inclined openings ex` tending through the sides of the body near the transverse opening, and e cord passed through the openings of the body and held friotionally therein, und provided with stops at its ends.
