Description
F. H. WILSON. SEWING 0R WORK BASKET HOLDER. APPLIOATION FILED FEB. a, 1909.
Patented July 6, 1909.
Swuentoz 45 Pt Q to be frictionally. held in place. The portionof the devi whid, g g h FRANK HARRISON WILSON, F Monrnosn, PENNSYLVANIA.
snwme OR wonx BASKET nonnnn.
To all whom it may concern:
Be itv known that I, FRANK HARRIsoN WILSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Montrose, in the county of Susque- ,hanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sewing or Work Basket Holders; "and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to Imake and use the same, reference being had to the ac companying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which forma part of thisspecification. V
This' vention relates to new and useful improvements in holders for work, sewing baskets, etc.,-and consists of a simple and.
efficient device of this nature which may be conveniently attached to the arm or seat of a chair or other article, and comprises va-' rious details of construction, combinations and arrangements of arts which will be hereinafter fully desc'ri ed and then specifically'defined in the appended claims.
2 is a perspective view showing the device as 'applied to thefarm of a chair. Fig. 3 is a detail perspective view of' the device de-.
1 tached from the chair.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by-- 'letter, A designates the work-holding device which is made referably of 'asingle piece of metal, re erably wire, which is bent. u on itself at and the two strands of the wire bent to form the S- shaped portion, the convolutions of which are *adap'ted'to engage over the bottom of a chair or the arm or round thereof, the wire being preferably of a flexible material and Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed February '6, 1909. Serial No. 476,504.
My invention is illustrated in the accom- Patented July 6, 1909.
chair or other article, preferably is provided with covering-E of felt or other suitable material, sc -that the article u on which it is held will not-be marred. At ocations, designated by letter F, the wire ,is bent outwardly at angles forming the two armsG, G, which terminate in curved ends N designed toengage. over the edge of. a basket as shown. i
As the device is made of a flexible material, the wires may be bent to adjust the de vice so that it will fit difierent sized'baskets and also bent to en age' chairs of different sizes and to adapt the holder to be applied to the round of a chair, seat or arm as may 'be desired.
thence bent each in S-shape forming means to en age a chair, said arms having straight paral el portions extending beyond the S- shapedloops, each of said parallel portions being bent upwardly at right angles and having its end curved upwardly and rearwardlyv and terminating in ahook, as shown y and described.
2. A work holding device comprising a wire which is bent upon itself at its longitudinal center, the two arms of thewire being thence bent each in S-shape, the longitudi nal center of the wire adapted to engage the edge of the seat of a chair, while the upper of the loops formed by the S-shaped portions are designed to receive the arm of a chair, the arms of the wire beyond the loops extending horizontally and diverging, and the ends of the wires being curved upwardly and rearwardly and terminating in hooks, as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in the resence of two witnesses.
