Figure 4 is a front view, showing the gutter and attachment.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
The nature oi' this invention relates to improve` ments in method of attaching gutters to'the eaves of buildings; and
The invention consists in a band, curved and fitted to the outside of the gutter, and extending above thev gutter at each end, and provided with holes for receiving a pin, which is driven through the holes in the band, and into the cornice or building, the bands being provided with attachments for holding them to the gutter while being put up.
To enable others to understand the construction and operation of my invention, I will proceed to describe it, with reference to the drawings.
A represents an ordinary gutter, with the usual bead or roll C, along its outer edge.
B represents a metallic band or strip, fitted to the outer surface of the gutter A, and extending, at each end, above the gutter, far enough for holes through.V
of band B, in case of using the device where the c'ornice will not admit driving the pins E, near arlevel with the top of the gutter A. y
S", iig. 3, represents another plan of attaching the tongue S, by means of a rivet, U.
V represents a tongue, attached to the inner end of the band A, by a rivet, U,'and is used for the same purpose as theitongue S.
What I'claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination and arrangement of the band B with the tongues S and V, pin E, and gutter A,'in the manner and for the purposes herein set forthand described. y
