IMPROVEMENT IN CORN-CU LTIVATORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 83,093, dated October 13*, 1868.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD F. RATE, of the county of Cedar and State of Iowa, have invented a new and useful Improvement on Corn-Cultivators; and I do hereby'deolare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in.
which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the whole cultivator, except one wheel, and Fig. 2 is a plan view, and Fig. 3 is a sectional View, thereof.
The object of my invention is to provide better means than have heretofore been devised for regulating the depth of furrow to be plowed by the shovels of a cultivator.
My device is constructed in the usual form of sulky-cultivators, and I attach to it the lifting apparatus, described as follows: To the lower side of the side beams I affix the roller, (marked F.)
