Be it known that I, HERMANL. FRANKE, a citizen of the UnitediStates, residing atChiin'g is a specification.
his device consists of a number of metal open-facedboxes or cases having suitable flanges for retaining the cards in the case and also means for grou ing the cases'or cardholders on a suitable oa or backing.

Referring specifically to the drawings, 10 indicates a board or backing preferably placed an inclined position when in position for displaying cards.
11 is one of the cases or holders,'made of \sheet metal, such as tin, and having a back 12, side flanges 13, beveled at the upper end,
as at 13*, and having at their front edges narrow inwardly-extending flanges 13 14 is a flange at the lower end, having a narrow inwardly-extending flange 14?.
r 15 is a lip or backwardly-extending flange at the top of the back 12, and 16 indicates small holes for tacking the holders to a board.
A strip 1O is provided at the top of the board for engaging the flange of the top holder. Each holder is then arranged on the board by having the lip 15 engage the flange 14c of the holder above. Thelower end of the holder maybe tacked to the board by 'means of the holes 16. The holders are of a cago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Card-Holders, of which the follow shape suitable for cardshaving the picture or otlmr matter arranged longitudinally; as shown at one sid in Fig 1, or for cards a .in vertical pictures; as shown at the-other si e. The holders expose the faces or pictures of the cards and allow the cards to be readily removed or replaced. 1
I claim 1. A. holder for cards or the like, compris ing a back having forwardly-projecting side and bottom flanges and inwardly-projectin flanges at the front edges of said flanges, and a rearwardl projecting flange at the upper edge of the ack. 2(A holder for cards or the like, comprising a back-board, and a series of sheetmetal holders secured thereto, each consisting of a back having forwardly-projecting flanges atthe bottom and sides and a rear- Wardly-projecting flange at the top, the latter flange b'ein engaged over the bottom flange of the IIGXlJ lIOldGI above.
