TO ALL WHOMIT MAY OONCERN:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. Figure 2, a. section of the upright posts, with the supporting-wheels for the top of gate.
Figure 3. is a section of one of the upright posts, showing the cross-bar of the gate-which plays on the same.
Figure 4 is a section ofthe lower cross-'har7 showing one of the lower wheels.
Figure 5 is the latch.
In fig. 2, P P are the upright posts, which must be set far enough apart for thegate to run between them freely.
w w are the wheels upon which thecrosssbar runs, and which supportthe gate. They are of cast iron.
In fig. 3, P is one of the'upright posts, showing fully the action of the cross-bar on the wheel w.
In fig. 4, Ls is the cross-bar at the lower side of gate, and w one of fthe wheels which support.
Fig. '5. .sY is thecross-bar, y the spring, C the catch, K the supporter, andH the handle of the latch.
What I claim asmy invention, isl I Y The action of the gate in opening and shutting on the wheels B B, and supported between the upright posts P P, on `the wheels C, and also on the latch, as shown in iig. 5, the catch being sustained by K, and forced into the catch on post bythe spring y. y
I claim nothing on the construction of the gate, which may be made' either by the cross-slats and the upright pieces, or by the ordinary cross-bars.
GEORGE W. BLAOKWLL.
