PATENT WILLIAM R. CLARK, OF TEHACI-IAPI, CALIFORNIA.
CONtBlNATION-TOOL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 731,859, dated June 23, 1903.
Application filed July 13, 1901. Serial No. 68,223. (No model.)
To all w/wm it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM R. CLARK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tehachapi, in'the county of Kern and State of California, have invented a new anduseful= fication, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a of a bolt or rivet C.

with my invention.
the same. Fig. 3 is an edge view. Fig. 4 is a detail view showing the jaws open. Fig; 5
is a view showing the jaws closed, said view being taken from the side opposite to that shown in Fig. 2., Fig. 6 is a section on the line 6 6 of Fig. 3. Fig. 7 is a section on the line 7 7 of Fig. 2.
In carrying out my invention I employ two jaws A and B, pivotally connected by means The ends of the jaws A and B are formed into nippers A and B, respectively, and wire-cutting notches A and B are formed adjacent to the inner ends of the Dipper-points for the purpose of cutting wire. The rear portion of the jaw A is in the form of an open frame, a portion thereof being turned back and sharpened, as shown at A to provide a can-opener, and the extreme end isshaped to produce a screw-driver A Scale-marksA are produced upon one mem- 'ient pencil-sharpener.
ber, and a notch A is produced adjacent the can-opener to be used as a spoke-wrench. The open-frame portion of the jaw A can be used as a wrench for various-sized nuts. The end of the jaw B is curved or pointed, as shown at B said curved and pointed end serving at one time as a cork-extractor and another as one leg of a caliper. The point A upon the jaw A serves as the other point of said caliper. A circular opening B is produced in the jaw B, the edges being beveled, as shown, thereby providing a conven- The edge of the jaw B is also sharpened and adapted to form one member of a pair of shears, the sharpened edge A of the jaw A forming the other member. The edge B does not meet the opposite side of the jaw A, thereby forming a slot 13 in which the shank of a button can be placed while thebntton is being polished.
It will thus be seen that I provide a combination-tool embodying a number of different implements all combined and arranged for convenient operation and so located and arranged that one part will not interfere with the operation of another part.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A wrench, one member of which is a triangular-shaped frame,asecondirregular-shaped member pivoted to the first member adjacent its narrowest portion, the said second member having its widest portion at said pivotal point, and being notched adjacent said point and tapered at its adjacent end, said tapered portion and the narrow portion of the firstnamed member being adapted to serve as grippingjaws. j
WILLIAM R. CLARK.
