DEVICE FOR D RAPlNG CURTAINS, 800.
SPECIFIGATIQN forming part of Letters Patent No. 631,401, dated August 22, 1899.
' Application filed May 23; 1898. fierial No. 681,501. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that We, FRANZ RICHARD KI'JHE NEL and CARL LOTHAR EDUARD BUSSE, subjects of the German Emperor, and residents of Berlin, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Curtain- Supports, of which the following is a specification.
The invention consists of a notched or socketed rod adapted to receive parts of the curtain in said sockets or notches, combined with means for holding the parts of the curtain therein.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of the rod. Fig. 2 isaperspective view with some of the holding wedges or clips in place. Fig. 3 is a view of a modification, and
Fig. 4 represents one of the holding wedges or clips.-
The invention comprises'the rod 1, Fig. 1, having the notches or sockets 2, extending at a sharp angle to the edge of the rod and adapted to receive the folds of the curtain, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 2, where said folds are held by the clips or wedges 3. These wedges are of spring form, as shown in Fig. 4,having two sides or members adapted to move toward and from each other, and when inserted in one of the notches, which have inclined or divergent sides, the spring sides of the wedge will hold the folds thereto, as indicated in Fig 2.
Instead of forming notches or incisions in a rod the same effect may be secured by propoints along the rod to receive diiferent folds of the curtain, substantially as described.
3. A curtain rod having wedge shaped notches therein with means for holding the folds of the curtain in said notches at different points along the rod to receive different folds of the curtain, substantially as described.
4. In combination, the rod having the inclined notches and the wedges adapted to the notches to hold the material therein, said notches being disposed at different points along the rod to receive the different folds of the curtain, substantially as described.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands in presence of two witnesses.
FRANZ RICHARD KIIHNEL. CARL LOTHARFDUARD BUSSE.
