lM PROVEM ENT IN PLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 6,007, dated January 9, 1849. a
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM RICHTER, of Williamsburg, in the county of Wayne and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Plows called the Improved Corn-Plow, and I do hereby declarethat the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a perspective View. Fig. 2 represents difi'erent sections of the improvement.
Letter Arepresents two cultivator-teeth; and B, the cultivator-beam,in which the teeth are, fixed; and O, the corn-fender, which is fixed to the beam between the cultivator-teeth and the plow; D, the king-bolt, which holds the cultivator-beam to the beam of the plow; E, stay rods or braces, which keep the cultivator-beam In the use of this improvement the cultiva- 1 tor-teeth go before and loosen up the ground, and the eorn'fender comes after, clears away all the trash and elods from the young corn, and the plow follows after and lays the fine earth or soil up to the corn without disturbing' it. p
What I claim as myinvention, and desiret secure by Letters Patent, ist The corn-fender O, in combination with the cultivator-teeth A A, and the plow, acting in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
