COMBINATION ARTICLE OF FURNITURE AND COLLAPSIBLE TABLE.

Be it known that I, ALBERT W. ELLISON,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Point Pleasant, in the county of Mason and State of West Virginia, have invented a certain new, useful, and valuable Improvement in a Gombination Article of Furniture and Collapsible Table, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description. My invention has relation to combination cabinets or like articles of furniture and collapsible tables attached thereto, and it consists in the novel construction and arrangement of its parts as hereinafter described. In the accompanying drawings: Figure l, is a perspective View of a cabinet and the open table. Fig. 2. is a side View of the same. Fig. 3, is a longitudinal sectional View of the closed table and frame. Fig. 4, is a detail perspective view of part of the table and its frame.

My invention is described as follows:

To the back of the cabinet 1, is attached the sliding frame 2, by means of the grooves 3, 3, or other suitable devices. The bottom of the frame is preferably provided with a caster l. The perpendicular sides of the frame 2, are provided with the perpendicular slots 5, 5, and at the points 6, 6, the said sides of the frame are provided with shoulders extending into said slots. The said shoulders are indented as shown in Figs. 2 and 4.

The table consists of the top 7, which has hinged to the under side of its front end a pair of legs.

When the table is open the legs pendicular slots of the sides of the frame 2, and rest in the indentations of the shoulders 6, 6.

When the table is open the different parts are in the position as shown in Fig. 2. When it is desired to close the table, the cross piece 10, is raised and pushed back in order to disengage its lower edge from the indentation of the shoulders 6, 6. Then the said cross piece is dropped down in the slots 5, 5. The hooks 9, 9, are then disengaged and the top of the table is swung up in the frame as shown in Fig. 3. The frame 2, may then be pushed hehind the cabinet and the table is disposed of.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is y l. A collapsible table consisting of a top having hinged thereto suitable legs, a cross piece hinged at one end to the top of the ta ble, a frame having suitable perpendicular slotsand shoulders located therein, said cross piece adapted to work in said slots and rest on said shoulders, as set forth.

2. The combination of an article of furniture such as a cabinet, and a frame attached thereto, said frame adapted to slide behind the said article; a collapsible table located in said frame, consisting of a top having hinged thereto suitable legs, a cross piece hinged at one end to the top of the table, said frame also having suitable perpendicular slots and shoulders located therein, said cross piece adapted to work in said slots and rest on said shoulders, as set forth.
