Abstract
The application discloses a face lifting device which serves, in addition, as a decorative or ornamental piece of jewelry having the appearance of a necklace. A plurality of elasticised, beaded strands disposed about the back of the neck and connected to an ornamental base located under each ear lobe and attachable to a skin adhering patch provides the principal source of lift. The lift is exerted rearwardly so as to remove wrinkles and excess fat formed about the neck and under the chin. 57 ABSTRACT The application discloses a face lifting device which serves, in addition, as a decorative or ornamental piece of jewelry having the appearance of a necklace. Where the problem of fat and excess skin is especially acute a front necklace may be provided which is weighted to provide additional skin lift.

This invention is a cosmetic device for temporarily removing the redundant skin and tissue from the front and side of the neck which causes lines and wrinkles and gives the appearance of baggy skin and double chin. This is achieved by lifting and pulling the redundant skin to the back of the neck area. There results a slim, younger appearing contour to the neck and jaw line. The action is accomplished specifically by gently lifting the excess neck tissue towards the back of the neck with three or four strings of beads on double elastic threads that extend across the back of neck and attach at each end to large, decorative-type button like pieces located under the ear lobes.
The underside of each button is snap fastened onto a skin adhering patch and the top side is beaded for decorative purposes. The buttons also may support a front string of beads of conventional construction. If needed, a second front string of beads may be worn which is connected to the same button elements through plastic tubes extending thereto by making a virtually frictionless, crossover contact with themselves and the skin at the back of the neck. The second string is weighted in front to provide additional skin lift which may be required because of the presence of unduly redundant flesh in the region of the neck and chin.
There is presented below a more detailed description of the invention which is taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a side view showing one embodiment of the skin lifting device;
FIG. 2 is a front view showing a second embodiment of the invention;
FIG. 3 is a rear view of the second embodiment;
FIG. 4 is a side view showing the wearer without the device, a portion of an earring being broken away;
FIG. 5 is a side view of the skin patch and button device with parts broken away prior to their attachment; and
FIG. 6 is a front view of the skin patch and attached jewel used to conceal the patch when the device is not worn.
Referring to the drawings a patch 10 having a non-allergy producing adhesive as an undercoating is removably secured to the skin on each side of the neck underneath the ear lobes. Halfsection 12a of a snap fastener 14 is sewn to the center of each patch the circumferential edge of which is beaded for decorative purposes.
The second half section 13:: of the snap fastener 14 is secured asby sewing to the center of fabric button 16. The fabric of button 16 is saturated with adhesive and pressed and squeezed into the shape as shown in the drawings. While still wet, beads 18 are pressed onto the top side of each fabric button whereby the button the back of the neck as shown in FIG. 1. The elastic pull on the skin patches to which the buttons are removably attached by snap fastener connection (FIG. 5) causes a rearward lifting of the skin under the jaw in the direction of the nape. The rounded beads allow the stretching of the strings to occur without hinderance and in a relative slip free manner to allow maximum pull by the elastic strings on the skin patches. Also, the rounded beads serve to minimize skin wear. A front beaded string 26 is then suspended from the fabric buttons by hook and eye connection thereto in order to complete the necklace ensemble.
If the skin lifting device is not to be worn, the circumferentially beaded patches are allowed to remain on the skin so that they do not need to be alternately removed from and attached on successive wearings which could be productive of skin irritation. In order to provide a decorative cover for the center of the patches a jewel 32 having a snap fastener base section is removably secured to the snap fastener on each patch to at least partially conceal the patches (FIG. 6) which may also be further concealed by an earring (FIG. 4) suitable to the purpose.
A second front string of beads 34 is secured to the rear of the fabric buttons by hook and eye connection in cases where a heavy redundant neck and double chin tissue are present. A decorated metal disc 36 is then mounted on the second front string to provide the additional weight for exerting the extra lift necessary for the desired redistribution of such tissue. The attachment ends of the second string are encased in plastic tubes 35 and 35a making cross over contact with one another thus serving to minimize friction on the skin and allow substantially the full weight of the string to be exerted on the skin patches for maximum skin lifting effect.
Various modifications of the invention may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the scope and principle of theinvention as defined in the appended claims;
What is claimed is:
l. A face lifting device comprising a pair of skin adhering patches, each patch adapted to be removably attached to the skin of the wearer below the ear lobes, plastic button elements removably attached by snap fastening means to said patches and at least one elastic member sheathed in a beaded encasement interconnecting said elements, there being provided a front necklace having a weighted piece supported thereon and having its free ends crossed and attached by hook and eye connection to said elements.
2. A device as defined in claim 1, wherein the free ends of said front necklace are encased in plastic tubing whereby the maximum pull of said weighted piece may be exerted on said elements.
Claims (2)
