A vibrator assembly for a concrete mold plate comprising a vibrator to be located by means of form wedging or form fitting within the mold plate to one or more partition walls thereof, said vibrator being provided with an elongated fitting member making it possible to secure the vibrator relatively deeply inside the mould by fixing the fitting element to the mold plate itself.

57 ABSTRACT.
A vibrator assembly for a concrete mold plate comprising a vibrator to be located by means of form wedging or form fitting within the mold plate to one or more partition walls thereof, said vibrator being provided with an elongated fitting member making it possible to secure the vibrator relatively deeply inside the mould by fixing the fitting element to the mold plate itself.
15 Claims, 6 Drawing Figures 1 VIBRATOR ASSEMBLY FOR CONCRETE MOLD PLATES This invention relates to a vibrator assembly for concrete mold plates comprising fitting elements in the mold plate and a vibrator.
Such mold vibrators which are attached, for example, to the surface of a mold plate are used for the packing of concrete material, particularly in packet and other vertically cast molds. There are also rod vibrators which are located inside the concrete itself. In addition, attempts have been made to locate vibrators inside mold plates, but because of assembly difficulties it has been necessary to place'thern near the edges of the mold plates, and the vibration effect has not been satis-' the fitting of the vibrator is both simple and reliable the locating of the vibrator is easy the vibrator can be fitted at a great distance from the edges of the plate, giving better results the dimensions of the vibrator can be sufiiciently reduced for it to be used with relatively thin mold plates.

mold plate 1. The inner surface of this housing 2 is tapered in the direction of the inner part of the mold plate 1 in such a fashion that the vibrator 3, whose outer surface follows the contours of the inner surface of the housing 2, is securelywedged in position.
The vibrator consists of a head 3, a shaft element 4 connected to the head and a fixing flange 8 which is, in

The housing 2 can also consist of an opening in one of the partition walls 10, into which the vibrator 3 can be wedged. In addition the housing 2 can be made up of openings in two or more adjacent partition walls l0, 11. A suitable reinforcing collar can be mounted around the openings.
The housings 2 are fitted to the mold plates 1 during the manufacture of the plates. A housing 2 of tube-like shape will, for example, reinforce'the mold plate as a turn, connected to the shaft. There is an opening 6 in the side wall of the mold plate 1 at the same level as housing 2, around which the fixing flange 8 of the vibrator is attached by means of bolts 7. The vibrator shown in- FIGS. land 2 is electrically operated, but the invention also permits the use of a vibrator operatedby compressed air. It is desirable for the power transmission element 5 to pass through the shaft 4, but it can also be located outside it.
The means of fixing the vibrator 3 depends upon its form in accordance with the invention. Any of the following methods, form wedging (FIGS. 1 and 2), form fitting, or thread fixing, which can be accomplished from outside the mold plate can be used. Different shapes can be used, and thus the inner surface of the housing 2 and/or the outer surface of the vibrator 3 can whole when welded to partition walls 10 and 11.
As will be appreciated from the above, FIGS. 1 and 2 represent only one corner of a bigger mold plate having a generally box-like structure and being provided with at least one horizontal vibrator 3. When the mold is filled, the concrete'to be vibrated will be situated between two or more, e.g., parallel, moldplates', i.e., outside the lateral sheets 13 and 14 (FIG. :2). The mold plate is reinforced with'intemal partition walls 10 and 11, which are parallel to each other and also parallel to thevertical edge plates 12. Finally, the mold plate is closed from its upper and the lower side by means of horizontal edge plates 1. The cutouts l5 and 16 in the partition walls 10 and '11 provide a passage for the distribution ducts for/heating water. I
The vibrator 3 essentially becomes part of the mold plate when the mold plate is in function. In view of the easy detachment of the vibrators, however, the same vibrators may of course, be used with different mold plates.
It is also possible to reverse the situation so that, contrary to the embodiment of FIGS, 1 and 2, the outerend of the vibrator has, a bigger cross-section than the inner end. As appears in FIG. 5, the vibrator has a generally conical form, with longitudinal ridges 17 extending out of the conical surface. The'housing has a crosssection corresponding to that of the vibrator in such a way that the minimum cross-section of the housing at least equals the maximum cross-section of the vibrator. The vibrator can be;inserted all through said housing,
' then turned about its axis, and finally pulled towards the aperture by means of a removable tube so that the ridges 17 will mate with those portions of the inner side of the housing having a smaller diameter.
What is claimed is:
l. A vibrator assembly for a concrete mold plate having at least one partition wall, said assembly comprising fixing elements on the mold plate and a vibrator, said wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have the form of a tapering solid of revolution. I
4. A vibrator assembly in accordanee with claim 3 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have the form of the frustum of a cone.
5. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have the form of a truncated pyramid.
6. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have a form at least approximating to a cylinder.
7. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have a form at least approximating to a prism.
8. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 comprising corresponding screw threads on the vibrator and the housing.
9. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 1 wherein the housing consists of a cylindrically shaped element.
10. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 1 wherein the vibrator comprises a head, a shaft element connected to the head and a fixing flange which is connected to the shaft.
11. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim wherein the fixing flange is attached around an aperture provided in said plate.
12. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 11 comprising a power transmission element for the vibrator passing through the shaft.
13. A vibrator arrangement for a concrete mold plate having inner partition walls, comprising:
a. at least one vibrator;
b. fitting means for fixing the vibrator from outside the mold plate;
0. a shaft element interconnecting the vibrator said fixing means;
d. means in the mold plate defining an aperture for the insertion of the vibrator in the plate; and
e. means in the partition walls of the mold plate at least partially mating with the outer surface of the vibrator for locating the vibrator inside the mold plate by form wedging or form fitting.
14. A vibrator arrangement as claimed in claim 13 wherein the means in the partition walls comprises a separate housing.
15. A vibrator arrangmeent as claimed in claim 13 wherein the means for fixing the vibrator comprises a fixing flange.

Claims (15)

1. A vibrator assembly for a concrete mold plate having at least one partition wall, said assembly comprising fixing elements on the mold plate and a vibrator, said fixing elements including at least one housing in which the vibrator is accommodated by means of form wedging or form fitting, said housing being attached to said partition wall of the mold plate.
2. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 1 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator are of the same general shape.
3. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have the form of a tapering solid of revolution.
4. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 3 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have the form of the frustum of a cone.
5. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have the form of a truncated pyramid.
6. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have a form at least approximating to a cylinder.
7. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 wherein the inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the vibrator have a form at least approximating to a prism.
8. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 2 comprising corresponding screw threads on the vibrator and the housing.
9. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 1 wherein the housing consists of a cylindrically shaped element.
10. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 1 wherein the vibrator comprises a head, a shaft element connected to the head and a fixing flange which is connected to the shaft.
11. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 10 wherein the fixing flange is attached around an aperture provided in said plate.
12. A vibrator assembly in accordance with claim 11 comprising a power transmission element for the vibrator passing through the shaft.
13. A vibrator arrangement for a concrete mold plate having inner partition walls, comprising: a. at least one vibrator; b. fitting means for fixing the vibrator from outside the mold plate; c. a shaft element interconnecting the vibrator with said fixing means; d. means in the mold plate defining an aperture for the insertion of the vibrator in the plate; and e. means in the partition walls of the mold plate at least partially mating with the outer surface of the vibrator for locating the vibrator inside the mold plate by form wedging or form fitting.
14. A vibrator arrangement as claimed in claim 13 wherein the means in the partition walls comprises a separate housing.
15. A vibrator arrangmeent as claimed in claim 13 wherein the means for fixing the vibrator comprises a fixing flange.
