Abstract
THE INVENTION REFERS TO A DEVICE ADAPTABLE TO COMMON SINGLE- OR DOUBLE-BEAM SPECTROPHOTOMETERS, WHICH PERMITS SERIAL DETERMINATION OF SUBSTANCES IMPREGNATED ON DISKS, AND WHICH CONSISTS IN A MECHANISM FOR CHANGING AND CENTERING OF THE DISKS MOUNTED IN A HOLDER WITHIN THE CELL COMPARTMENT OF THE SPECTROPHOTOMETER. A MANUALLY OR AN AUTOMATIC SAMPLE CHANGE IS MADE FROM WITHIN OR WITHOUT OF THE CELL COMPARTMENT OF THE SPECTROPHOTOMETER. THE CONTROL DISK IS MOUNTED IN THE MOBILE HOLDER, WHICH CAN BE ADAPTED TO THE SAMPLE HOLDER OR IN FRONT OF THE REFERENCE BEAM, DEPENDING UPON THE SPECTROPHOTOMETER TYPE.

Cl. 356244 3 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention refers to a device adaptable to common singleor double-beam spectrophotometers, which permits serial determination of substances impregnated on disks, and which consists in a mechanism for changing and centering of the disks mounted in a holder Within the cell compartment of the spectrophotometer. .A manually or an automatic sample change is made from within or without of the cell compartment of the spectrophotometer. The control disk is mounted in a mobile holder, which can be adapted to the sample holder or in front of the reference beam, depending upon the spectrophotometer type.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention refers to a device for serial spectrophotometric determination of substances on the disks, of conventional spectrophotometers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The device according to the invention no longer has these drawbacks since it consists in a mechanism for changing and centering of the disks on the holder that can be mounted directly in the spectrophotometer cell compartment, a lever moving the holder-disk. The lever is controlled by a device with periodic action mounted within or outside the cell compartment of the spectrophotometer and the holder for the control-disk is mounted on the mobile holder disk, or in front of the reference beam.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent from the following description, reference being made to the accompanying drawing in which FIG. 1 is a cross-section along the line A-A of FIG. 2; and
FIG. 2 is a cross-section along the line BB of FIG. 1.
SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION According to the invention, a frame 1 sized according 3,669,554 Patented June 13, 1972 to the spectrophotometer cell space and is provided with a light tight lid 2 the latter supports a shaft 3 with a conic centering tip 4. A lever 5 is provided with an external knob 6, pressure upon which pushes shaft 3 into guide 7, compressing a spring -8 and releasing for introduction into or removal through lid 2 of a disk-holder 9. The disk holder is rotated by a lever 10 provided with a hook 11 and centered upon a slit 12 with the help of a fixed hook with a spring 13. An opening 14 is covered by a movable lid 15, the position of disk 9 being checked and the return of lever 10 to the initial position being insured by a spring 16, so that, with each new rotation of disk 9 by manual or automatic displacement of a pin 17 fixed to lever 10 via a slot-like opening 18 covered by a screen 19, one of the paper disks 20 mounted between the two plates 21 and 22 of the holder disk 9 is brought in front of slit 12. A holder 23 with the control disk is introduced into the slit cut in the disk holder 9. This device is adaptable to single beam spectrophotometer, as for instance the Shimadzu QV-SO. In the case of double beam spectrophotometers the control disk holder is introduced in a similar slit in front of the control beam. The device can be fixed to the spectrophotometer, for instance, with a pin on spring 24.
The device for spectrophotometric determination according to the invention has the advantage of being adaptable to most types of single or double beam spectrophotometers and can be used both manually and with the aid of an automatic sample changer.
