Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel construction of a calendar watch having a plurality of indicator dials in addition to a display of the day and the date. Maximum space for the letters and numbers of the date and dial indicators is achieved by making the day dial slightly smaller than the date ring and placing the spindles of the dial indicators in the annulus between the outer periphery of the day dial and the inner periphery of the date ring.

Maximum space for the letters and numbers of the date and dial indicators is achieved by making the day dial slightly smaller than the date ring and placing the spindles of the dial indicators in the annulus between the outer periphery of the day dial and the inner periphery of the date ring.

DETAILED EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the disposition of the date dial and day disk with day star.
The date dial and day disk with day star of the conventional chronograph has a small second spindle la, minute-recording wheel axle lb and hour-recording wheel 1c so that the date dial and day star come in only small disks being eccentric from the center of the movement, because they are prevented by the recording wheel axles la-c from being centrally located. The letters of days have to be shortened and are hard to read. At the same time it is hard to read the date, because it is shown with the hand provided in the date star 3.
The aim of the present invention is to enlarge the letters and numbers of the day and date. The present invention is explained in FIGS. 2 to 4.
In FIG. 2, 4 represents the disk rotating around the center of the watch movement. 5a shows the minute-recording wheel axle, 5b, 5c and 6 show respectively the hour-recording wheel axle, the small second axle and the date dial having inner teeth 2 and being ring-shaped.
FIG. 3 shows that the day dial does not overlie the inner addendum circle of the date ring. The clearance between them is such as to permit the placement of spindles 5a and So (also 511, not shown) therebetween.
In FIG. 4, 7 represents the hands equipped in each axle 5a, 5b and 5c. Accordingly, it is necessary to make spaces for the axles 5a, 5b and 50 between the outer side of the day disk 4 and the inner inner addendum circle of the date dial 6.
As above stated, the said invention has merit which enables it to enlarge letters and numbers so as to be easily read.
In order to obtain the said efiect, the ring-shaped date dial must be disposed so as to be able to set each axle. Moreover the said date dial must be on the outer side of the day disk, which rotates around the center of the watch movement.
What is claimed is:
1. In a calendar watch having at least one dial indicator in addition to day and date indication, an improved arrangement providing for enlarged day and date characters, comprising a date ring proximate the periphery of said watch, said date ring carrying indicia thereon, said indicia extending radially, said date ring being toothed at its internal periphery, a day wheel coaxial within said date ring, said day wheel carrying indicia thereon, said indicia extending radially, and a spindle for said dial indicator, said spindle being parallel to the axis of said day wheel and being located between the outer rim of said day wheel and the inner addendum circle of said date ring, the difference between the diameters of said day wheel and said inner addendum circle of said date ring being such as to provide minimum clearance for said spindle therebetween.

Claims (1)

1. In a calendar watch having at least one dial indicator in addition to day and date indication, an improved arrangement providing for enlarged day and date characters, comprising a date ring proximate the periphery of said watch, said date ring carrying indicia thereon, said indicia extending radially, said date ring being toothed at its internal periphery, a day wheel coaxial within said date ring, said day wheel carrying indicia thereon, said indicia extending radially, and a spindle for said dial indicator, said spindle being parallel to the axis of said day wheel and being located between the outer rim of said day wheel and the inner addendum circle of said date ring, the difference between the diameters of said day wheel and said inner addendum circle of said date ring being such as to provide minimum clearance for said spindle therebetween.
