/ 42/ 67,658 Int. Cl. FZSb 39/04; F28b 1/06 U.S. Cl. 62--428 1 Claim ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A refrigeration condenser, compressor and receiver are mounted on a platform with a blower. The blower draws air in radially through the circular condenser and discharges the air over the compressor and the receiver to cool the components.
This invention is related to the condensing unit with a special condenser as its features, which is a necessary cold storage of fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and other equipment of such for example as either a refrigerator for perishable foods, or an air conditioning apparatus for cooling every room at comfortable temperature constantly.
Generally speaking, when installing a condensing unit, it is more often than not to be fatally disposed at a small area wherein air-suction element of said unit is to be faced adjacent to the wall or any unexpected impediments. According to the condensing unit of conventional type, condensing pipes are generally to be formed al1 in straight line and a plurality of these pipes are arranged with a plurality of fins at the same direction as, and in parallel to the latter. After that, the assembled pipes and fins are mounted into a frame body of square shape in order to make a square form as a whole, thereby making it possible to breathe air in from the flat surface of thus constructed condensing element. Therefore, when installing a condensing unit of conventional type, it is doomed with such deficiencies that the air-suction element of the unit is to closely affront the wall or any other unexpected impediments as has just been pointed out, and consequently neither air-suction operation can be secured enough to maintain invariable efficiency of condensation nor desired cooling effect can be expected, as the condensing efficiency is made as much lowered.
Accordingly, installation of such a condensing unit requires a substantially spacious place or in other words extreme restriction is imposed on the place of installation for general purposes. Also, there is another problem, namely, for locating the condenser in the annular shape that has just been mentioned, it is necessary to provide a motor fan in the inside of the annularly formed portion; therefore for the convenience of fixing together the motor fan and the annularly formed portion, the construction of the condenser cannot but be much complicated as a whole.
Furthermore when the annularly formed condenser is provided independently separated of a compressor, a receiver tank and other integral elements, or to be more precise, when this condenser is utilized exclusively as a single unit in such a small space of a chamber that has been mentioned, a certain part of the fins provided on the aforesaid condensing pipes is inevitably to abut against the wall or any other unexpected impediments thereby giving rise to many deficiencies.
Accordingly, one of the main objectives of the present invention is to provide the annularly formed condenser in combination with the compressor and the receiver tank both connected thereto and also to mount each of these elements on a square-shaped base so that the condensing unit is able to absorb the suflicient quantity of the outer atmosphere in whatever small room it may be installed.
Another objective of the invention is to provide the annularly formed condensing unit that can be constructed n such an easy manner that it is possible to detachably mount the motor fan thereon. Further another objective of the invention is to provide the condensing unit in which it is very easy to construct the motor fan on said base in combination with the main body of the condensing unit comprising the annularly formed pipes and fins. Moreover another objective of the invention is to provide the construction wherein a continuity of the condensing pipe is rolled one time or several times to form an annular shape and a plurality of fins are mounted radially on the annularly formed pipe portion to form the main body of the condensing unit in such a manner as to be easily mounted on a motor-fan cover provided on the squareshaped base plate thereby making it easy to put together the motor fan and an electricmotor. A still further objective of the present invention resides in providing the construction wherein the compressor and the receiver tank are mounted on the base plate opposed to the place where the main body of the condensing unit is mounted, in order that the blow exhausted through the fan-cover outlet lashes at the compressor and receiver tank thereby letting the blow serve for cooling off these elements with the outside cooling means. All the particulars of the invention being as set forth in detail in the following specification, its novelty and features are as emphasized in this application for patentability of the invention especially referred to in what is claimed in the attached claims.
Now explaining the present invention with reference to the accompanied drawings,
FIGURE l is a plan View partially showing a condensing unit and FIGURE 2 likewise shows a flank view illustrating one of the embodiments of the present invention.
' Referring to the FIGURE 1, the circuit of cooling medium is formed with the pipe 1 which is connected to the condensing pipe 1-' having a suitable diameter and bent in a circular arc as is shown in the drawing by the six pieces of pipes 1 arrangedin two rows and spaced in a flight of three stairs in the direction of said diameter. These pipes 1' assembled in the above-mentioned manner are provided with a plurality of tins 2 radially around the central point of said circular arc. Incidentally said six pieces of pipes 1 are interconnected with each other except for their respective edge directly connected to said pipe 1.
Said tins 2 have in their upper part and lower part the cover plate 3 and the sole plate 4 respectively as is shown in the drawing. SaidA sole plate 4 has in any suitable portion of its outer periphery a projection 18 inserted through the head of a tightening bolt 12 protruded from the base plate 9 so that said sole plate 4 is forcibly pressed against the base plate 9 by means of said projection 18. Said sole plate 4 has also a provision of4 the holes for fixing the supporting means 11a, 11b and v11C of a motor fan B which will be referred to` later.
The base plate 9 is of square shape and has on its one side'a fan cover 6 provided with a blow outlet 5. Said fan cover 6 is in its upper portion provided with the central hole 10 through which the motor fan B can be inserted. As the motor fan B, use is made of such a squirrel cage-like fan that is known in the registered trademark Sirocco blower provided with an annularly formed impeller 8, which is driven by an electric motor 7 and fixedly supported by said supporting means 11a, 11b and 11C. At the base of the main body of the condensing unit mounted on the fan cover there is provided the motor fan B (the electric motor 7 included) inserted through the central hole of the fan cover 6 and fixedly mounted on the sole plate 4 by means of the supporting means 11a, 11b and 11C. The fixation of these supporting means 11a, 11b
and llc is carried out by means of each of the squarely headed set-screws shown in the FIGURES 1 and 2.
Incidentally when it is necessary to take the motor fan B off the main body of the condensing unit, the detachment is easily made merely by releasing the fixation of each supporting means 11a, 11b and 11c, without taking off the main body of the condensing unit comprising the annularly formed pipes 1' and tins 2.
From the base plate 9 there are protruded the tightening bolts 12 which are forcibly pressed against the`sole plate 4 through means of the projection 18 thereof thereby reinforcing the iixation of the motor fan cover 6. Furthermore, the assemblage is made with ease merely by mounting the main body A of the condensing unit on the fan cover 6. On the opposite side of the plate wherein the main body A of the condensing unit is mounted on the base plate 9, there are a compressor 13, a receiver tank 14 and a strainer 15 disposed in parallel relation with each other as shown in the FIGURE 1, and the blow outlet of the fan cover 6 is opened toward these means. Accordingly, all of said means are cooled off by the blow lashed out of the blow outlet 5 thereby enhancing the condensing effect all the more.
In the drawing reference numerals 16 and 17 designate the joints respectively provided in the outlet and the inlet of the circuit of cooling agent. These are both provided on the base plate 9 to form a condensing unit in combina,- tion with the condenser constructed in the above-mentioned manner. The cooling agent is circulated in the direction shown at the arrow in the drawing and condensed under the influence of air inhaled from the surroundings of the condenser A, and the thus condensed cooling agent is restored to a refrigerater or a freezer to be cooled off repeatingly.
As has been defined in the preceding explanation, the condenser of the present invention is formed in a circular arc so that it can inhale from its outer peripheral portion the sufficient quantity of air. What is more, said condensing unit being mounted on the one base plate in cornbination with the compressor and the receiver tank, it is always possible to dispose the iins in spaced relation to the wall or any other impediments contiguous thereto, even though said base plate is installed in the corner of the chamber. In addition to the advantage that the assemblage of the condensing unit is made with ease, as has been mentioned, merely by mounting the unit on the fan cover, the construction of the condensing unit of the present invention provides another advantage in that when it is necessary to detach the motor fan, this detachment is very easily made just by demounting the supporting means from the sole plate. Thus due to these advantages, it is very easy to sweep the blade of the motor fan clean when dust has been accumulated thereon and also repair the same when it has been damaged. Furthermore when the motor fan needs not be used, this can be easily demounted for preservation.
What is claimed is: 1. Condensing unit for heat exchanger comprising at base plate; compressor; receiving tank;
means for mounting said compressor and said receiving tank on said base plate;
cover means having an outlet opening and a circular inlet opening, said inlet opening having an axis perpendicular to said outlet opening;
means for holding said cover means on said base plate with said inlet opening located away from said base plate and said inlet axis being perpendicular to said base plate, and said outlet opening faced toward said compressor and said receiving tank;
squirrel cage type circular blower located within said cover means through insertion through said inlet opening, with the axis of said blower being coaxial with said inlet axis;
motor means positioned within said blower for driving said blower;
means for holding said blower and said motor means within said cover means;
condenser pipe, part of whose length is shaped in a circular arc configuration having a circular opening, the inner diameter of said circular opening being at least as largepas the diameter of said inlet opening of said cover means, said pipe being connected to said compressor and said receiving tank;
means for mounting said condenser pipe on said cover means with the axis of said circular opening of said pipe configuration being coaxial with the axis of said inlet opening of said cover means such that said pipe islocated outside of said inlet opening, and
a plurality of at n means mounted on said pipe such that the at surfaces of each iin means extend radial of said axis of said circular opening whereby operation of said blower by said motor means causes surrounding atmosphere to be pulled through said inlet opening after exposure to said fin means and said pipe and expelled through said outlet opening.
