(Cl. 214-18) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to machines for removal and installation of covers of charging hatches for coke ovens and for subsequent removal of charge around these hatches.
There are known machines for removal and installation of covers of charging hatches for coke ovens and sub sequent removal of charge around these hatches, which consists of a mechanism for gripping the hatch cover and a scraper mechanism used to remove charge, both mechanisms being driven through a horizontal reduction gear connected with a drive shaft and fixed with its middle part on the pipe which is capable of moving in the vertical direction.
In this known machine the mechanism for gripping the hatch cover and the scraper mechanism used to remove charge are mounted separately and are capable of rotating on the opposite ends of said reduction gear.
However, the above machine fails to provide for a satisfactory charging of coke ovens, for to install a telescopic device of the machine along the axis of the hatch being serviced, said telescopic device should be lifted above the oven laying high enough to make it possible that the mechanism for gripping the hatch cover together with the removed cover be placed between the coke oven laying and the lower part of the telescopic device. In this case, the path of charge travel at the moment of charging the coke oven becomes longer, and the charge often scaffolds in the telescopic device, blocks the latter and interfers with the process of charging the coke oven.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages.
A particular object of the invention is to provide a machine for removal and installation of covers of charging hatches and subsequent removal of charge around these hatches, which is compact and places the discharge hole of the bunker closer to the charging hatch of the coke oven to preclude the scaffolding of charge in the telescopic device.
In the accomplishment of the above and other objects of the invention in a machine for removal and installation of covers of charging hatches of coke ovens and for subsequent removal of charge around these hatches, according to the invention, use is made of a telescopic device for directing the charge from the bunker of a coal-charging wagon, said device being cantilever-mounted on the body of a horizontal reduction gear of the mechanism for removal and installation of covers, on whose funnel the mechanism for removing the charge is mounted. The ma chine of the invention can have a telescopic device fitted with a lever drive interacting with the lever system of the drive of the gate of the discharge hole of the coal-charging Wagon bunker so that the opening of the gate isfollowed by the downward movement of the telescopic device, while the closing of the gate is followed by the upward movement of said device.
For a better understanding of the invention an exemplary embodiment thereof is described hereinbelow, reference being made to the appended drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic elevation view of the machine according to the invention;
FIG. 2 is a plan view of same;
FIG. 3 is a telescopic device of the machine according to the invention, as viewed in the direction of arrow 3 in FIG. 2;
FIG. 4 is a mechanism for removal and installation of the hatch cover and a scraper mechanism for removing the charge of the machine according to the invention, as viewed in the direction of arrow 4 in FIG. 2;
FIG. 5 is a gearing diagram of a machine drive and a lever system for switching on the mechanism for removing the charge and;
FIG. 6 is a section taken along line 6-6 of FIG. 5.
The machine according to the invention consists of a frame 1 (FIGS. 1 and 2) on which are mounted: a worm reduction gear 2, an electric motor 3, a brake 4, a master switch 5, a pipe guide 6 with a shaped slot 7 and a spring shock absorber 8. Passing through the pipe guide 6 is a pipe rod 9, the lower part of which is connected to the body of a horizontal reduction gear 10, and the upper part of which has a casing 11 hinged to a lever system made up of levers 12, 13, 14 and 15. In its turn, the lever system of the machine drive is hinged to a crank 16 of the worm reduction gear 2. A shaft 17 passes through the pipe rod 9, the lower part of said shaft is splined to be engaged with the splines of a hollow shaft 18 (FIGS. 5 and 6). The hollow shaft 18 is connected with a gear 19 of the horizontal reduction gear 10.
Thus, the movable parts of the machine are rotated by a system of shafts 17, 18 and the gear 19, and are lowered and lifted by means of the system of levers 16, 15, 14, 13 and 12 connected with the pipe rod 9.
When lowering or lifting the horizontal reduction gear 10, it is simultaneously turned around, the vertical shafts 17 and 18 with the help of a stud 20 With a roller 21 moving along the shaped slot 7 of the pipe guide 6.
Attached to the horizontal reduction gear 10 With the help of a bracket 22 (FIGS. 2 and 3) is a telescopic device consisting of a branch pipe 23 secured to the bracket 22, and external taper member 24 suspended on wires 25 (FIG. 1) connected to a ring 26, said ring being hinged to a lever 27 fitted with a cam 28. Placed between the branch pipe 23 and the external taper member 24 is an intermediate branch pipe 29 (FIG. 3). The radial clearances between the branch pipes 23, 29 and the taper member 24 are covered by overlapped rings 30 and 31. In the extreme upper position, When the telescopic device is shifted, the lever 27 is held with a catch 32 moved by a double-arm lever 33. Mechanisms for removal and installation of covers of charging hatches and a scraper mechanism for removing the charge are movably mounted on a funnel 34 (FIG. 4) of the horizontal reduction gear 10. The funnel is secured to a gear 35, the latter being kinematically connected with the gear 19 (FIG. 5) by means of a system of intermediate gears and rotating in a bearing 36 (FIG. 4). The upper part of the funnel 34 is formed with a universal joint and a spline shaft 38. In its turn, the spline shaft 38 is connected with another universal joint, the latter consisting of a fork 39 and a ring 40. By means of two studs 41 the ring 40 is connected with a head 42 for gripping the hatch cover. The gripping head 42 suspended horizontally by means of a ring 43 and flexible suspensions 44 is capable of rotary 3 and oscillatory movements in the horizontal plane by means of the shaft 38.
The scraper mechanism for removing the charge consists of scrapers 45 hingedly suspended on three doublearm levers 46. Each double-arm lever 46 is provided with a roller 47 contacted by a solid ring 48 used to turn the lever 46 together with the scraper 45 attached to it around axle 49. The scrapers are lowered on the oven under the pressure of their own weight, when the ring 48 is moved upwards by the lever system for switching on the mechanism for removing the charge. Said lever system consists of a cam 50 (FIG. rotating on horizon tal axle 51 of the worm reduction gear 2 (FIG. 2). Interacting with the cam 50 (FIG. 5) is a lever 52 fitted with a roller 53. In its turn, the lever 52 is connected by means of a system of levers and drawbars 54, 55, 56 and 57 with supports 58 and 59, and further on, kinematically, by means of a lever 60 fitted with roller 61 and a lever 62with the solid ring 48, the latter interacting with the levers 46 (FIG. 4) bearing the scrapers 45. The levers 46 with the scrapers 45 are pressed upwards by the ring 48 and a spring 63 attached to the lever 60.
The machine of the invention operates as follows. The coal-charging wagon approaches the oven being serviced so that the axes of its bunkers and telescopic devices coincide with the axes of the charging hatches. The electric motor 3 (FIGS. 1, 2, 3) of the machine drive is actuated, and the horizontal reduction gear connected through the pipe rod 9 with the lever system 12, 13, 14, and 16 of the drive starts to lower, simultaneously turning so that the axes (FIGS. 4 and 5) of the hatch cover 64 and of the gripping mechanism 42 coincide. In this case, the roller 21 attached to the pipe 9 slides along the inclined part of the shaped slot 7 of the pipe guide 6 and into its vertical part. The gripping mechanism is centered by means of a guiding pin 65 of the hatch cover, and the gripping mechanism enters a pocket 66 of the hatch cover. The cover starts to rotate together with the gripping mechanism 42 simultaneously cleaning itself from car- 'bon, owing to the friction between the cover and the hatch walls.
The horizontal reduction gear 10 should be kept in the extreme lower position for some time, enough for the gripping mechanism 42 to grip the cover 64 and make several revolutions around its axis together with the cover to clean the latter. This is achieved in the following way: the lever 13 rests upon the spring shock absorber 8, keeping all the moveable parts of the machine freely suspended, while the drawbar 15 continues to move in relation to the stud of the lever 14 along the slot in said drawbars fork until the crank 16 of the reduction gear resumes its extreme lower position. After the crank 16 reaches this point and starts its upward movement, the drawbar 15 will once more engage the stud of the lever 14 and will start to lift the whole system upwards until the crank reaches its extreme upper point. At this moment, the electric motor is automatically stopped by the master switch 5. The telescopic device of the machine cantilever-mounted on the reduction gear 10 is once more located along the axis of the bunker and the charging hatch.
When charging the coke oven (FIG. 3), the axes of the bunker 67 and the cylindrical branch pipe 23 coincide, and the discharge hole of the bunker 67 is closed with a gate 68. The respective drive of the coal-charging wagon (not shown in the drawings; its levers are shown by dotted lines and the direction of its movement is shown by arrows) is switched on, which drive through the system of levers 69, 70 and 71 shifts the gate in a frame 72, thus opening the discharge hole of the bunker 67. The turning of the lever 70 around axle 73 and the turning of its third arm bearing a roller 74 and a drawbar 75 with a stud 76 are simultaneous. The roller 74 supports the cam 28 of the lever 27 so that the latter turns smoothly around axle 77 and lowers the taper member 24 into the hatch, while the stud 76 turns the lever 33 used to shift to the left the catch 32, said catch holding the lever 27. When the taper member 24 is lowered into the hatch, the intermediate branch pipe 29 rests with its upper part on the lower lug of the branch pipe 23, while the rings 30 and 31 cover the radial clearances between them, thus blocking the outlet of gases and throwing out of charge.
As soon as the oven is charged, the discharge hole of the bunker is once more blocked with the gate 68. In this case the gate moves to the left along the frame 72, the roller 74 engages the cam 28 and presses it downwards, thus folding the telescopic device; the stud 76 turns the lever 33 and the latter shifts the catch 32 to the right in the position where it can keep the telescopic device in the folded state.
During the process of charging the oven, part of the charge is scattered around the hatch. To remove it, installed along'the axis of the serviced hatch is the scraper mechanism for removing the charge. In this case, the elec tric motor 3 is again actuated; it rotates in the opposite direction and the horizontal reduction gear 10 once more begins to lower and to turn around the vertical axis. Thus, the lever system of the device for operating the scraper mechanism for removing the charge is actuated.
Rotation of the shaft 51 (FIG. 5) of the worm re duction gear is accompanied by rotation of the cam 50. During removal of the hatch cover and installation of the telescopic device under the bunker, the roller 53 of the lever 52 is in the inactive portion of the cam 50 and, with rotation of the latter, rolls over its surface, while the lever 52 remains motionless. If the direction of rotation of the shaft 51 and the cam 50 is changed, the latter is turned so that the protruding part or active portion of the cam 50 moves onto the roller 53. In this case the lever 52 turns around its axis and moves the entire system of levers with the supports 58 and 59. The support 58 holds the casing 11 of the pipe rod 9 freely suspended in the intermediate position so that the hatch cover 64 held by the gripping mechanism 42 does not lower into the hatch and stops at a certain distance from it as shown in FIG. 4. At the moment when the horizontal reduction gear 11 turns, the lever 60, hinged to its body, reaches the support 59, which is in its lower position, and rests upon it with the roller 61. The lever 60 turns around its horizontal axis and acts upon the solid ring 48 through the lever 62, thus lifting said ring. In this case the levers 46 bearing the scrapers are freed and the scrapers move downwards to rest on the oven surface. When rotated, the scrapers rake the charge left on the oven surface into the open hatch.
As the cam 50 keeps on rotating, the inactive portion of the cam once more reaches the roller 53 and the lever 52 with the roller 53 turns upwards: the lever system begins to move, the support 58 leaves the casing 11 and the pipe rod 9 goes downwards, the cover 64 lowers into the hatch, the support 59 moves upwards, releasing the lever 60. Forced by its own weight and by the spring 63 the solid ring 48 moves downwards and lifts the scrapers upwards.
At this moment the crank 16 assumes its extreme lower position and when the cover 64 appears in the hatch, the horizontal reduction gear 10 begins to move in the upward direction, turning at the same time. The telescopic device of the machine once more takes its place under the discharge hole of the bunker. The operating cycle is completed.
Such a design of the machine permits the removal of the charging hatch cover, charging of the oven from the bunker of the coal-charging wagon, raking into the batch of scattered charge, installation of the hatch cover into the hatch seat and mutual rotational engagement of the cover and the hatch seat. In this case, the proper moving of the charge from the coal-charging wagon bunker is ensured, the scaffolding of the charge in the telescopic device is precluded and the time of charging is reduced.
Though the present invention has been described with reference to the proposed embodiment thereof, it should be made clear that many variations within the scope and idea of the invention are possible.
What is claimed is:
1. A machine for the removal and installation of coke oven charging hatch covers and for the cleaning away of the charge around these hatches, said machine comprising: a supporting frame installed on each hopper of a coal-charging wagon provided with a horizontal gate; a system of levers on each hopper for opening and closing said gate; a tubular guide with a shaped groove secured on said supporting frame; a tubular rod with a bearing cage, said rod being engaged for movement in said tubular guide and including a guide roller movable in said shaped groove upon movement of the tubular rod; a horizontal reduction gear including a housing secured to said tubular rod at the lower end thereof; a gear system in said horizontal reduction gear housing including a plurality of gears one of which is an end gear; a telescopic shaft passing inside said tubular rod and connected to one of the gears of said gear system; a drive with a crank gear and a system of levers connected to said bearing cage of said tubular rod for rotating said telescopic shaft and lifting said tubular rod; a device for gripping and rotating the cover of the charging hatch mounted on the end gear of said gear system; means for cleaning away the material spilled out around the hatch when the oven is charged, the latter means being installed on said device for gripping and rotating the hatch cover; a lever system for connection of said means for cleaning away the spilled out material; a bracket rigidly mounted on the housing of said horizontal reduction gear; a two-arm lever with a cam interacting with said system of gate operating levers, the middle part of said two-arm lever being hinged to said bracket; a telescopic device comprising at least three cylindrical pipes; and a movable catch for fixing said two-arm lever in its extreme top position.
2. A machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the internal pipe of the telescopic device is rigidly fixed on said bracket of the horizontal reduction gear housing and is rotatable about the axis of said telescopic shaft, the external pipe including a tapered guiding part for entering the hatch of a coke oven and being hinged to said twoarm lever by means of an intermediate ring with rods such that when said system of levers opens the gate, the said movable catch releases the two-arm lever and the said telescopic device extends downward, while when the gate is being closed, said telescopic device contracts upward and said catch fixes the two-arm lever in position.
