SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 295,491, dated March 18, 1884.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ELLIOTT H. FUNK, of Sturgis, in the county of St. Joseph and the State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful-Improvements in Snow and Ice Velocipedes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear and exact description thereof, reference being had to the ac companying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form part of this specification, in which p Figure 1 represents a top or plan view of the velocipedc. Fig. 2 represents a side View of the same.
A is a sled or sleigh that may be made in any suitable manner.
B is an oscillating turn-table for the purpose of letting the runners-pass up over-a rise in the road ordo'wn in a gutter, and work sidewise, eitherright or left, as a means for directing the course of the velocipede.
O is a platform attached to the turntable B p by a king-bolt, D.

The operation is as follows: By pulling the left-hand lever I it throws the front end of sled A to the right, giving the velocipede a left-hand course. By the operator pulling the right-hand lever I it throws the front of the sled A to the left, giving the velocipede a right-hand course.

Having explained the nature of my invention to the best of my knowledge, what I claim 1s The chisel-point-spurred wheel E, levers I I, the iron rods J J, with their connections to staples K K, and oscillating turn-table B, in combination with sled A, as hereinabove set forth.
