'Be it known that we, WILLIAM W. JoHN- AsoN and JULIUs Y. JOHNSON, of Nicholson `whichis` a perspective view of our improved chair.
This'invention has reference to certain iinprovements in such chairs; and it consists in the combination and arrangement ot' parts, substantially as hereinafter describeth and pointed out in the claim..
In the annexed drawing, Brefers to frame constituting sides ot' back and front legs; O, rear legs, provided on their upper side (below `the point where they cross and are pivoted to the frames B) with ratchet-teeth; A, the rockers, provided with slotsH; E F, jointed arms, pivoted at o andfto the side rails of the back aud the rear legs; D, pawls, pivoted near their upper ends, at d-the point of pivoting the two members of the jointed arms; J, the exible seat, connected to the round at the upper ends ofthe back and front legs and passing over the round at the upper end of rear legs to a lower round in the frame B.
