Description
May 20, 1952 J. MANOIL TOY VEHICLE WHEEL AND AXLE Filed Oct. 15, 1948 INVENTOR (/46'A M4/V0/4 ATTORNEY Patented May 20, 1952 E'FICE TOY VEHICLE WHEEL AND AXLE Jack Manoil, Waverly, N. Y., assignor to Manoil Manufacturing 00., Inc., Waverly, N. Y., a corporation of New York Application October 15, 1948, Serial No. 54,670
2 Claims. 1
The present invention relates to toy vehicles as more particularly directed toward toy automobiles.
The present invention contemplates improvements in toy automobiles having cast chassis with integral opposite extending axle forming elements on which are secured soft rubber-like Wheels, the Wheels being held in place by the enlarged ends of the studs.
The accompanying drawings show, for purposes of illustrating the present invention, an embodiment in which the invention may take form, it being understood that the drawings are illustrative of the invention rather than limiting the same.
In the accompanying drawings:
Figure 1 is a top plan View of the chassis, the wheels being omitted;
Figure 2 is a side elevational View of the same showing the wheels in place; and
Figure 3 is an enlarged inverted plan view showing the wheels in place on the axles.
In the drawings, the chassis casting generally at l i. The chassis casting is an elongated fiat thin casting having widened front and rear ends [2 and I 3 connected by a narrower portion 14. The narrower portion l 4 carries four laterally extending axle forming studs having rounded ends l6. These are placed just far enough behind the front widened area and the front of the rear widened area to accommodate small rubber wheels H. The wheels are adapted to be pushed on to the axle studs and to contract after they have passed by the enlargement l6, so that they are efiectively held against unintentional removal.
Since it is obvious that the invention may be embodied in other forms and constructions within the scope of the claims, I wish it to be understood that the particular form shown is but one of these forms, and various modifications and changes being possible, I do not otherwise limit myself in any Way with respect thereto.
What is claimed is:
l. A toy vehicle, having a one-piece cast chassis with integral oppositely extending axle forming studs having enlarged ends.
2. A toy vehicle comprising a cast vehicle chassis having integral oppositely extending axle forming studs with enlarged ends, and soft rubber-like wheels with axial holes through which the studs extend, the wheels being deformable to pass by the enlarged ends of the studs.
JACK MANOIL.
