The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in cabinets and more particularly to a built-in type wall cabinet for bath rooms and for other purposes.

An important object of the invention is to provide inner and outer doors for the cabinet, both having mirrors, and mounting the inner doors for sliding movement to expose individual coinpartments at the sides of the cabinet and mounting the outer door for swinging movement to expose a compartment at the center of the cabinet.

Another object is to arrange the swinging door with respect to one of the sliding doors whereby the mirrors carried thereby may be moved into a position for simultaneously viewing the front and side of the head of a person.

A further object is to provide a recessed wall cabinet of simple and practical construction, which is neat and attractive in appearance, relatively inexpensive to manufacture and assemble, and which is otherwise well adapted for the purposes for which the same is intended.

Other objects and advantages reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective View of the front frame of the cabinet showing the sliding and swinging doors mounted thereon;

Figure 2 is a vertical sectional view of the frame secured to a recessed cabinet;

Figure 3 is a horizontal sectional view taken on a line 3-3 of Figure 2;

Figure 4 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional view of the top of the cabinet;

Figure 5 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional view taken on a line 5 5 of Figure 1 and showing the catch for the swinging door; and

Figure 6 is an enlarged sectionalview taken on a line 6-6 of Figure 4 and showing the hinge for the swinging door.

Referring now to the drawing in detail, wherein for the purpose of illustration I have disclosed a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral 5 designates generally a recessed or built-in wall cabinet including vertical partitions G forming a central compartment 1 and a pair of side compartments 8 and 9. Each compartment is provided with shelves I0.

A stepped frame I I is formed with an inwardly projecting flange I2 which is secured internally to the top, bottom and sides of the cabinet by screws I3 and an internal channel I4 is found continuously around the top, bottom and sides of frame I I to form upper and lower tracks I5 and I6. A pair of doors I'I and I8 are slidable in the tracks I5 and IB and close the side compartments 8 and 9 respectively when the sliding doors are in closed position, as shown in Figure 3, and either of said sliding doors slide inwardly over central compartment 'I into an open position. Rubber bumper strips I9 are suitably secured to each edge of the sliding doors.

A swinging door 20 is hinged at one edge to the top and bottom of frame I I by brackets 2| secured to the frame by screws 22 and project forwardly of the frame and are formed with recesses 23 at their opposed surfaces pivotally receiving studs 24 carried by upper and lower channeled frames 25 and 26 carried by door 20. The door 20 is swingable into an open and closed position in front of central compartment 'I and is secured in a closed position by means of a bracket 2'! secured to the rear of the free edge of door 20 and having a seat 28 at the free edge of the bracket engaged by a spring projected plunger or catch 29 slidable in a housing 30 secured to an adjacent edge of frame II.

The rear surfaces of doors Il and I8 are silver coated or otherwise suitably constructed to provide a mirrored front surface and the door 20 is also provided at its front surface with a mirror 3l.

From the foregoing it will be apparent the sliding doors I'I and I8 provide closures for the respective side compartments 8 and 9 and are both slidable behind the hinged door 2, while the hinged door provides a closure for the central compartment 1.

The frame Il and doors Il, I8 and 2G mounted thereon, are secured as a unit at' the front edge of the cabinet 5.

In view of the foregoing description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings it is believed that a clear understanding of the device will be quite apparent to those skilled in this art. A more detailed description is accordingly deemed unnecessary.

It is to be understood, however, that even though there is herein shown and described a preferred embodiment of the invention the same is susceptible to certain changes fully comprehended by the spirit of the invention as herein described and the scope of theappended claims.

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is t 1. In a cabinet structure, an upper and a lower stepped frame each having inner, intermediate and outer vertically spaced and laterally offset ledges, webs connecting adjacent edges of said ledges, a track secured to the registering face of said inner ledges, and a mirrored door slidably received in said tracks, means for mounting said frame in a wall opening, a bracket secured to each of said intermediate ledges intermediate the ends thereof, a mirrored door having upper and lower trunnons, said trunnions being rotatably received in said brackets whereby said last-mentioned door will be vertically pivotally attached to said frame for selectively opening and closing an intermediate portion thereof, said upper ledge being adapted to abut the wall in which said frame is secured. t
