This invention relates to improvements in coin articles to be delivered one,k at a time whenever' a coin is deposited in the control apparatus.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved coin controlled dispensing apparatus for dispensing articles one at a time, and for simultaneously replenishing the article holding magazine every time an article is dispensed.
A further object of the invention is to provide an improved coin controlled dispensing apparatus which will be highly efcient in operation, and relatively inexpensive to manufacture and produce.
Other objects will appear as the description proceeds.
In the accompanying drawings which form a part of this application:
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view through the improved coin controlled dispensing device;
Figure 2 is a sectional view taken on the line 2 2 of Figure 1 the magazine being shown in section;
Figure 3 is a front elevation of the lower portion of the improved coin controlled dispensing device, and
Figure 4 is a perspective idew of the article supporting magazine and the replenishing and operating means therefor.
Like characters of reference are used throughout the following specification and the accompanying drawings to designate corresponding parts.
In carrying out the invention, there is provided an upright substantially rectangular case or cabinet generally designated by the reference numeral i having four vertical side walls, a bottom 2, and a top 3 hinged at 4 and provided with a securing hasp 5 for receiving a padlock 6.
A transversely extending supporting partition or base I is supported upon the angle bracket 8 spaced somewhat above the bottom 2 of the case or cabinet I, and is formed with a dispensing aperture 9 through which the article I0 to be dispensed will drop when the apparatus is operated.
A chute II is supported by the screws I2 below the discharge aperture 9 and angles downwardly, terminating at the discharge opening i3 through the case or cabinet I, the same being protected by the closure member M hinged at I5 to said case or cabinet I.
closure member I4, whereby when the same opened. the coins (not shown) which have been collected in thebottom of the case or cabinet I may vbe removed.
An upright substantially rectangular article containing magazine yIB issupported in xed position in the case or cabinet I by means of the bracket I9 attached to the inner wall of said case or cabinet I. The magazine i 8 will comprise parallel compartments 20 and 2l forming a dispensing compartment and a reserve or replenishing compartment respectively. The articles IB to be dispensed will be placed one upon the other in both compartments 20 and 2|, and a spring projected plunger or follower 22 will urge the articles I0 in the reserve compartment upwardly toward the cover 40. An opening 23 will be formed at the top of the compartments 20 and 2| for connecting the same, and for permitting an article IIJ to be pushed forwardly from the reserve compartment 2I into the dispensing compartment 2l) every time the dispensing device is operated.
A reciprocable operating or actuating plate 24 is slidably supported upon the partition or base l, and is likewise formed with an article discharge aperture 25 normally in register with the open lower end of the dispensing compartment 2li and disaligned with the dispensing aperture 9 through said base 'I.
A vertically extending member 25 is bent in opposite directions at its upper and lower ends to form the rellinq or feed plunger arm 21, and supporting plate 28, respectively. A brace 28 is connected between the member 25 and the supporting plate 28 which is fixed to the upper surl. face of the actuating plate 24.
An ear 2B is bent upwardly at the rear of the plate 24 and. is adapted to be engaged bv the adjacent end `of the operating lever 30 connected with the usual form of coin actuating mechanism generally designated by the reference numeral 3|. The lever 30 is slotted as at 32 and receives the guide pin 33 therein which is attached to and bottom of the case or cabinet I, the apertures 25 with article It! received therein t0 be aligned with the aperture il through the base l, and the arti-cle'IIl dropped into the chute II and dis- 3 pensed, As the lever 30 is retracted the feed arm 21 will force the top yarticle I from the reserve compartment 20. Thus, the operation will be repeated as often as a coin is dropped into the coin control mechanism 3|.
While the preferred embodiment of the instant invention has been illustrated and described, it will be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention thereto, as many minor changes in detail of construction may be resorted to without departure from the spirit of the invention.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
1. A coin controlled dispenser comprising a cabinet, a partition in said cabinet adjacent the bottom thereof having an article discharge aperture therein, a chutecarried by said partiton g article in said compartment towards the topr thereof, a coin receiving and actuating plate slidable on said partition having an article receiving aperture, and an article engaging finger Y brace member interconnecting the leg portions of said member.
