Description

NOV. 28, 1939. VETTE v 2,181,589
TOY
Filed Feb. 21, 1939 l y.5 W
ATTORNEY Patented Nov. 28, 1939' UNITED STATES TOY David Silvette, Henrico County, Va.
Application February 21, 1939,
2 Claims.
This invention relates to toys and'more particularly to a device of amusement and personal gratification of small children.
One of the objects of this invention is the provision of a toy that may beused in conjunction with containers or the like. It is often the custom of merchants to provide a novel toy that may be used in connection with their products, and one of the objects of this invention is the provision of. a toy that may be used in connection with a container.
Another object of this invention is the provision of a toy adapted to house a projectile adapted to be ejected therefrom.
Other objects and features will more fully appear from the following description and accompanying drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is a sectional perspective of the toy; Fig. 2 a top plan view; Fig. 3 a side view, and 20 Fig. 4 a top View of the projectile.
Referring to the drawing a housing I is formed by a base 2 provided with a circumferential side 3 having nibs 4 extending toward said base. A groove 5 is formed by said sides.
A projectile 6 is adapted for disposition in said housing; being held in position by said nibs, and an ejector l is disposed between said'base and projectile. When stress isexerted on said ejector,
Serial No. 257,592
in proper fashion, the projectile is thereby forced from the housing.
The toy is shown secured to a. container 8, and Fig. 4 discloses the projectile upon which may be printed or shown a picture.
The projectile may be constructed in ovoidal fashion so that only a few nibs will contact it, or it may beconstructed as illustrated.
Having described the invention, what is claimed is: I 10 1. A housing, disposed upon a container, consisting of a base provided with a circumferential groove; a plurality of nibs on said housing; a projectiledisposed in said housing above said base andadaptedto be secured by said nibs, and means between said base, and projectile adapted to exert a stress upon the latter member to cause itsejection from said housing.
2. A container, a housing disposed upon said container, said housing consisting of a base pro vided with a circumferential groove, a plurality of nibs on said housing; a projectile disposed in said housing above said base and adapted-to be secured by said nibs, means consisting of an ejector disposed between said base and projectile; said ejector being adapted to force: sai projectile from said container and said ejector means;
