Renewed June 17, 1935 4 Claims.
This invention relates to a powder puff and powder holder and has for an object to provide an improved powder and powder puff holder which will contain the powder and the puff securely without danger of spilling the powder or losing the puff and which may be carried easily in a purse or handbag without occupying an excessive amount of space. Y A further object of this invention is to'provide a powder and powder puff holder which is made substantially entirely of flexible material so that it may be carried in a purse or handbag without danger of crushing other articles in the purse or handbag or causing damage thereto as often happens through carrying metallic vanity cases or other containers of inflexible maerial.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, as will hereinafter .become apparent, this invention comprises the constructions, combina-. tions and arrangements of parts hereinafter set forth, disclosed and shown on the accompanying .a pair of impermeable flexible members H and I2 preferably circular in outline and stitched together as at l3 so as to form a round substantially shallow container.
This stitching l3 serves to secure the two cir- 4 cular members H and i2 together along about half of their periphery, the remaining half of the periphery being detachably secured together by means of the hookless fastener closure means l4 of the well known conventional typehaving open--.
ing and closing member l5 for operating the 4 same. The members H and I2 are of such a opening adjacent the fastener means H. The permeable flexible member l6 thus divides the container into a powder compartment l8 and a powder puff compartment l9.
,In operation the fastening means ll'is'opened 5 in the usual manner by drawing the handle member l5 to the opposite end and the powder is placed in the powder puff compartment l9 through the opening and then the powder puif is likewise placed in this compartment. The 10 powder pufi' when placed in this compartment soon absorbs the proper amount of powder ,and the surplus powder is then forced through the permeable flexible member l6 into the compartment [8 where it remains so long as the powder 15 puff is saturated. Then, as the powder is used up from the powder pufi 20 the powder 2 I in the powder compartment I8 sifts through the permeable wall l6, thus keeping the powder puff 20 properly impregnated with the proper amount 20 of powder and ready for use at all times.
The novel features and the operation of this device will be apparent from the foregoing description. While the device has been shown and 5.
the structure describediin detail, it is obvious that this is not to be considered limited to the exact form disclosed andthat changes may be made therein within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the inven- 30 tion.
Having thus set forth and disclosed the nature of this invention, what is claimed is:
1. A powder and powder puff holder comprising in combination a round shallow receptacle, 35 said receptacle comprising a pair of impermeable flexible members, said pairs of members being permanently secured together along a portion of their circumference and detachably secured together along the remainder of their cir- 40 cumference, and a permeable flexible member permanently secured entirely along its edges to one of said impermeable flexible members.
2. A powder and powder puff container comprising a shallow receptacle formed of two impermeable flexible members secured together, a permeable flexiblemember entirelysecured to-one of said impermeable'fiexible members within the receptacle, thereby providing a powder receptacle between said permeable flexible member and said secured impermeable flexible member,
I and a closure member between said flexible impermeable members providing an entrance for a powder puff. 66
3. A powder and powder puff holder and powder dispenser comprising a pair of impermeable flexible members secured together, a permeable flexible member secured between said impermeable flexible members entirely to one of said impermeable members dividing said receptacle into a closed powder compartment and a. powder pufl compartment, and a closure means providing an entrance to said powder pufl compartment, said closure means including a series of interlocking elements on each impermeable member and a 4. A container for a powder puff and powder I comprising an impermeable flexible member .formed into a, closed bag, a closure means provided into said bag to allow a powder put! to be placed therein or removed therefrom, and a permeable flexible member entirely secured inside said bag and providinga closed powder receptacle.
