Abstract
A hair braid heating assembly includes a clamp that has a plurality of hair channels thereby facilitating each of the hair channels to receive a respective one of a plurality of hair braids. The clamp is biased into an open position and the clamp is positionable in a closed position to enclose the hair braids in the channels. A plurality of heating elements is provided and each of the heating elements is integrated into a respective one of the channels in the clamp thereby facilitating each of the heating elements to be in thermal communication with a respective one of the hair braids. In this way the heating elements can melt the hair braids when the heating elements are turned on to improve the appearance of the hair braids by inhibiting the hair braids from fraying.

- The disclosure relates to hair braid devices and more particularly pertains to a new hair braid device for melting synthetic hair braids to inhibit fraying. The device includes a clamp that has channels for insertably receiving hair braids. The device further includes a plurality of heating elements that are each integrated into a respective channel. In this way the heating elements melt the hair braids when the heating elements are turned on. Thus, the hair braids are sealed to inhibit the hair braids from fraying.
- The prior art relates to hair braid devices including a hair singer that has a pair of wells for insertably receiving strands of hair and a heating element integrated into the wells for heating the strands of hair. The prior art discloses a hair iron that includes a pair of scissors for clamping hair and heating elements attached to the scissors for heating the hair. The prior art discloses a hair clamp that includes a pair of members pivotally attached together for clamping hair and heating elements attached to the members for heating the hair. The prior art discloses a hair heating device that includes a pair of scissors, each having a concave recess to receive hair and a pair of heating elements integrated into the concave recess in a respective scissor. The prior art discloses a hair clamp which includes a pair of pliers that each has a pair of concave clamps each oriented perpendicular to the pliers.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a clamp that has a plurality of hair channels thereby facilitating each of the hair channels to receive a respective one of a plurality of hair braids. The clamp is biased into an open position and the clamp is positionable in a closed position to enclose the hair braids in the channels. A plurality of heating elements is provided and each of the heating elements is integrated into a respective one of the channels in the clamp thereby facilitating each of the heating elements to be in thermal communication with a respective one of the hair braids. In this way the heating elements can melt the hair braids when the heating elements are turned on to improve the appearance of the hair braids by inhibiting the hair braids from fraying.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new hair braid device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 4 , the hairbraid heating assembly 10 generally comprises aclamp 12 has a plurality ofchannels 14 thereby facilitating each of thechannels 14 to receive a respective one of a plurality ofhair braids 16. Theclamp 12 is biased into an open position and theclamp 12 is positionable in a closed position to enclose thehair braids 16 in thechannels 14. Theclamp 12 comprises afirst member 18 and asecond member 20, and each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20 has a coupledend 22, afree end 24 and anengaging surface 26 extending between the coupledend 22 and thefree end 24. Additionally, each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20 is elongated between the coupledend 22 and thefree end 24, and theengaging surface 26 of thefirst member 18 faces theengaging surface 26 of thesecond member 20. Atop surface 28 of thefirst member 18 has arecess 30 extending downwardly toward the engaging surface of thefirst member 18 for enhancing gripping thefirst member 18 and therecess 30 is positioned between the coupledend 22 and thefree end 24 of thefirst member 18. The coupledend 22 of each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20 is rounded and thefree end 24 of each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20 is rounded to a blunt plane. - Each of the
channels 14 associated with thefirst member 18 is recessed into theengaging surface 26 of thefirst member 18. Furthermore, thechannels 14 associated with thefirst member 18 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed from thefree end 24 toward the coupledend 22. Each of thechannels 14 associated with thesecond member 20 is recessed into theengaging surface 26 of thesecond member 20. Thechannels 14 associated with thesecond member 20 are aligned with a respective one of thechannels 14 associated with thefirst member 18. Each of the plurality ofchannels 14 has a boundingsurface 32 and the boundingsurface 32 of each of thechannels 14 is concavely arcuate with respect to theengaging surface 26 of the respectivefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20. - The
engaging surface 26 of thefirst member 18 rests against theengaging surface 26 of thesecond member 20 when theclamp 12 is positioned in the closed position. Theengaging surface 26 of thefirst member 18 is spaced from theengaging surface 26 of thesecond member 20 when theclamp 12 is in the open position. Each of the plurality ofchannels 14 associated with thefirst member 18 forms anaperture 34 with arespective channel 14 in thesecond member 20 when theclamp 12 is positioned in the closed position. Each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20 is substantially hollow. - A
hinge 36 is integrated into each of thefirst member 18 and the second member for hingedly attaching thefirst member 18 to thesecond member 20. Thehinge 36 is integrated into theengaging surface 26 of each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20 at a point located adjacent to the coupledend 22 of each of thefirst member 18 and thesecond member 20. Abiasing member 38 is integrated into thehinge 36 and thebiasing member 38 biases theclamp 12 into the open position. Thebiasing member 38 may comprise a coiled spring or other type of biasing member. - A plurality of
heating elements 40 is provided and each of theheating elements 40 is integrated into a respective one of thechannels 14 in theclamp 12. In this way each of theheating elements 40 is in thermal communication with a respective one of thehair braids 16 thereby facilitating theheating elements 40 to melt thehair braids 16 when theheating elements 40 are turned on. Thus, theheating elements 40 improve the appearance of thehair braids 16 by inhibiting thehair braids 16 from fraying. Thehair braids 16 comprise synthetic hair braids that are employed in the convention of hair extensions in the field of cosmetology. Each of theheating elements 40 conforms to the boundingsurface 32 of therespective channel 14 such that each of theheating elements 40 has a concavely arcuate shape. Each of theheating elements 40 comprises an electric heating element that has an operational temperature of at least 520.0 degrees Fahrenheit thereby facilitating theheating elements 40 to melt nylon, for example, which is a material commonly employed in the construction ofsynthetic hair braids 16. - A
temperature control 42 is slidably integrated into thetop surface 28 of thefirst member 18 and thetemperature control 42 is electrically coupled to each of theheating elements 40. Thetemperature control 42 adjusts a temperature of each of theheating elements 40 between a minimum temperature and a maximum temperature. Apower button 44 is movably integrated into thetop surface 28 of thefirst member 18. Thepower button 44 is electrically coupled to each of theheating elements 40 and thepower button 44 turns each of theheating elements 40 on and off. Apower cord 46 is coupled to and extends away from the coupledend 22 of thefirst member 18 and thepower cord 46 is electrically coupled to thepower button 44. Thepower cord 46 has adistal end 48 with respect to the coupledend 22 of thefirst member 18 and amale plug 50 is electrically coupled to thedistal end 48 thereby facilitating themale plug 50 to be plugged into apower source 52 comprising a female electrical outlet. - In use, a respective one of a plurality of hair braids 16 is inserted into a
respective channel 14 in thefirst member 18 and theclamp 12 is manipulated into the closed position. Additionally, theclamp 12 is positioned such that the plurality ofheating elements 40 is aligned with afree end 54 of the hair braids 16. Thepower button 44 is manipulated to turn on theheating elements 40 and thetemperature control 42 is adjusted to the preferred temperature. In this way thefree end 54 of the hair braids 16 is melted thereby inhibiting the hair braids 16 from fraying. Furthermore, the process of heating the hair braids 16 in theclamp 12 is repeated as many times as is necessary to melt all of the hair braids 16 that are worn on a user'shead 56. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (9)
1. A hair braid heating assembly for melting synthetic hair braids thereby securing the synthetic hair braids, said assembly comprising:
a clamp having a plurality of hair channels thereby facilitating each of said hair channels to receive a respective one of a plurality of hair braids, said clamp being biased into an open position, said clamp being positionable in a closed position to enclose the hair braids in said channels; and
a plurality of heating elements, each of said heating elements being integrated into a respective one of said channels in said clamp thereby facilitating each of said heating elements to be in thermal communication with a respective one of the hair braids thereby facilitating said heating elements to melt the hair braids when said heating elements are turned on wherein said heating elements are configured to improve the appearance of the hair braids by inhibiting the hair braids from fraying.
2. The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein:
said clamp comprises a first member and a second member, each of said first member and said second member having a coupled end, a free end and an engaging surface extending between said coupled end and said free end, each of said first member and said second member being elongated between said coupled end and said free end, said engaging surface of said first member facing said engaging surface of said second member, each of said first member and said second member being substantially hollow;
each of said channels associated with said first member is recessed into said engaging surface of said first member, said channels associated with said first member being spaced apart from each other and being distributed from said free end toward said coupled end; and
each of said channels associated with said second member is recessed into said engaging surface of said second member, said channels associated with said second member being aligned with a respective one of said channels associated with said first member.
3. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein each of said plurality of channels has a bounding surface, said bounding surface of each of said channels being concavely arcuate with respect to said engaging surface of said respective first member and said second member.
4. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said engaging surface of said first member rests against said engaging surface of said second member when said clamp is positioned in said closed position, said engaging surface of said first member being spaced from said engaging surface of said second member when said clamp is in said open position.
5. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein each of said plurality of channels associated with said first member forms an aperture with a respective channel in said second member when said clamp is positioned in said closed position.
6. The assembly according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a hinge being integrated into each of said first member and said second member for hingedly attaching said first member to said second member, said hinge being integrated into said engaging surface of each of said first member and said second member at a point located adjacent to said coupled end of each of said first member and said second member; and
a biasing member integrated into said hinge, said biasing member biasing said clamp into said open position.
7. The assembly according to claim 3 , wherein each of said heating elements conforms to said bounding surface of said respective channel such that each of said heating elements has a concavely arcuate shape.
8. The assembly according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a temperature control being slidably integrated into a top surface of said first member, said temperature control being electrically coupled to each of said heating elements, said temperature control adjusting a temperature of each of said heating elements between a minimum temperature and a maximum temperature;
a power button being movably integrated into said top surface of said first member, said power button being electrically coupled to each of said heating elements, said power button turning each of said heating elements on and off; and
a power cord being coupled to and extending away from said coupled end of said first member, said power cord being electrically coupled to said power button, said power cord having a distal end with respect to said coupled end of said first member, said power cord having a male plug being electrically coupled to said distal end thereby facilitating said male plug to be plugged into a power source comprising a female electrical outlet.
9. A hair braid heating assembly for melting synthetic hair braids thereby securing the synthetic hair braids, said assembly comprising:
a clamp having a plurality of hair channels thereby facilitating each of said hair channels to receive a respective one of a plurality of hair braids, said clamp being biased into an open position, said clamp being positionable in a closed position to enclose the hair braids in said channels, said clamp comprising a first member and a second member, each of said first member and said second member having a coupled end, a free end and an engaging surface extending between said coupled end and said free end, each of said first member and said second member being elongated between said coupled end and said free end, said engaging surface of said first member facing said engaging surface of said second member, each of said channels associated with said first member being recessed into said engaging surface of said first member, said channels associated with said first member being spaced apart from each other and being distributed from said free end toward said coupled end, each of said channels associated with said second member being recessed into said engaging surface of said second member, said channels associated with said second member being aligned with a respective one of said channels associated with said first member, each of said plurality of channels having a bounding surface, said bounding surface of each of said channels being concavely arcuate with respect to said engaging surface of said respective first member and said second member, said engaging surface of said first member resting against said engaging surface of said second member when said clamp is positioned in said closed position, said engaging surface of said first member being spaced from said engaging surface of said second member when said clamp is in said open position, each of said plurality of channels associated with said first member forming an aperture with a respective channel in said second member when said clamp is positioned in said closed position, each of said first member and said second member being substantially hollow;
a hinge being integrated into each of said first member and said second member for hingedly attaching said first member to said second member, said hinge being integrated into said engaging surface of each of said first member and said second member at a point located adjacent to said coupled end of each of said first member and said second member;
a biasing member integrated into said hinge, said biasing member biasing said clamp into said open position;
a plurality of heating elements, each of said heating elements being integrated into a respective one of said channels in said clamp thereby facilitating each of said heating elements to be in thermal communication with a respective one of the hair braids thereby facilitating said heating elements to melt the hair braids when said heating elements are turned on wherein said heating elements are configured to improve the appearance of the hair braids by inhibiting the hair braids from fraying, each of said heating elements conforming to said bounding surface of said respective channel such that each of said heating elements has a concavely arcuate shape;
a temperature control being slidably integrated into a top surface of said first member, said temperature control being electrically coupled to each of said heating elements, said temperature control adjusting a temperature of each of said heating elements between a minimum temperature and a maximum temperature;
a power button being movably integrated into said top surface of said first member, said power button being electrically coupled to each of said heating elements, said power button turning each of said heating elements on and off; and
a power cord being coupled to and extending away from said coupled end of said first member, said power cord being electrically coupled to said power button, said power cord having a distal end with respect to said coupled end of said first member, said power cord having a male plug being electrically coupled to said distal end thereby facilitating said male plug to be plugged into a power source comprising a female electrical outlet.
