Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide a solution by providing a novel boxing glove that is compatible with lifting weights while wearing the gloves. Thus, the gloves allow a person to keep-on the boxing gloves to hit the punching bag as well as lift weights. To elaborate further, from the wrist towards the fingers, the gloves of the present invention is similar to a standard boxing glove, the difference being that novel boxing gloves is made with a cavity at the palm 112 of the hand, extending to the fingers, which allows a gripping part to lift weights. Evidently, The gloves of the present invention allows for better training and also allows the user/person to grab a weight, or a bottle of water, or to even use a cell phone while wearing the boxing gloves, which is not possible with a standard boxing glove.

Description

    RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims the benefit of US provisional patent application 63/318714, titled “OPEN HAND BOXING GLOVE”, filed by Cary Lee Williams on Mar. 10, 2022. This provisional patent application is incorporated herein by reference.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present invention relates to a boxing glove and more particularly related to the glove that is suitable for weight lifting or other purposes while using the glove.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Boxing gloves are cushioned gloves that fighters wear on their hands during boxing matches and practices. Unlike “fist-load weapons” (such as the ancient cestus) which were designed as a lethal weapon, modern boxing gloves are non-lethal, designed to protect both the opponent's head and the fighter's hand during a bout. Sparring and other forms of boxing training have their own specialized gloves.
  • Whereas most of the weightlifting and boxing gloves are fingerless gloves worn by weightlifters and covers the entire hand of the fighter
  • The inventors of the present invention have realized that people who work out may be interested in both boxing and weight lifting within the same work out session. This change creates a problem because the boxing gloves are generally not suited to lift weights.
  • While the prior art discloses many different types of gloves, so far as is known, none of these assemblies resolve these problems in a simple, effective and highly advantageous manner, as in the present invention.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The summary of the invention does not necessarily disclose all the features essential for defining the invention: the invention may reside in a sub-combination of the disclosed features.
  • It is therefore object of the present invention to allow a person that is working out to keep on the boxing gloves to both hit the punching bag and to lift weights.
  • Embodiments of the invention provide a solution to the above problem and to achieve the above object by providing a new boxing glove that is compatible with lifting weights while wearing the gloves. Thus, the gloves of the present invention allow a person that is working out to keep on the boxing gloves to both hit the punching bag and to lift weights.
  • To elaborate further, from the wrist, towards the fingers, the gloves of the present invention is similar to a standard boxing glove, the difference being that boxing gloves of our invention is made with a hole at the palm of the hand, extending to the fingers, which does not interfere with the punching part of the glove but allows a gripping part to lift weights.
  • One example of intended use of our invention is for people that are working out to keep the boxing glove on his/her hands while changing from punching a bag to lift weights.
  • The gloves of the present invention operates protecting the knuckles for a punching session while allowing enough gripping and flexibility on the palm of the hands and on the fingers to allow for a weight lifting session.
  • The gloves of the present invention can be made with different padding thicknesses and material.
  • Evidently, the gloves of the present invention allows for better training and also allows the user/person to grab a weight, or a bottle of water, or to even use a cell phone while wearing the boxing gloves, which is not possible with a standard boxing glove.
  • The glove is configured to be used in MMA (Mixed Martial Art), weightlifting contexts and hybrid of such similar or other events.
  • Further areas of applicability of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description provided hereinafter. It should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating the preferred embodiment of the invention, are intended for purposes of illustration only and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
