FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new bulletproof device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 7 , thebulletproof vest assembly 10 generally comprises aballistic vest 12 that is comprised of a penetration resistant material to protect auser 14 from being injured by a projectile. Theuser 14 may be a solider or law enforcement officer and the projectile may be a bullet from a gun or shrapnel from an explosive device. Theballistic vest 12 has afront side 16 that covers the user'schest 18 when theballistic vest 12 is worn. Aballistic plate 20 is provided that is insertable into theballistic vest 12. Theballistic plate 20 is comprised of a bullet resistant material to inhibit bullets from penetrating theballistic plate 20 and injuring theuser 14. Theballistic plate 20 has aconcave section 22 to accommodatebreasts 24 of afemale user 14 thereby enhancing comfort for thefemale user 14. In this way thefemale user 14 can breathe more easily and move more freely as compared to existing ballistic vests and existing ballistic plates. - The
ballistic plate 20 has afront surface 26, aback surface 28 and aperimeter edge 30 extending between thefront surface 26 and theback surface 28, and theperimeter edge 30 has atop side 32, abottom side 34, a firstlateral side 36 and a secondlateral side 38. Each of the firstlateral side 36 and the secondlateral side 38 has anangled portion 40 and astraight portion 42. Theangled portion 40 angles outwardly between thetop side 32 and thestraight portion 42 of the firstlateral side 36 and the secondlateral side 38. Thestraight portion 42 of each of the firstlateral side 36 and the secondlateral side 38 extends between theangled portion 40 and thebottom side 34. - The
concave section 22 extends between thestraight portion 42 of each of the firstlateral side 36 and the secondlateral side 38. Theconcave section 22 curves forwardly with respect to thefront surface 26. Additionally, theconcave section 22 is aligned with an intersection between theangled portion 40 and thestraight portion 42 of each of the firstlateral side 36 and the secondlateral side 38. Theballistic plate 20 is insertable into theballistic vest 12 such that thefront surface 26 of theballistic plate 20 rests against an inside surface 44 of thefront side 16 of theballistic vest 12. - In use, the
ballistic plate 20 is worn beneath theballistic vest 12 such that theconcave section 22 curves away from the female user'schest 18 to accommodate the female'sbreasts 24. In this way thefemale user 14 does not experience the discomfort of breast compression as is common with existing ballistic plates. Additionally, thefemale user 14 can breathe more fully and has greater range of motion as compared to existing ballistic plates. Theballistic plate 20 can be employed in conjunction with any design or style of ballistic vest that is commonly employed by military or police. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
