Abstract
An elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture is revealed. The elastic stretchable lid includes a lid body and a hollow cap. The lid body made of soft and elastic materials is fit on an opening of a container while the hollow cap is arranged at a center of the lid body and provided with at least one air hole on a bottom thereof, a moisture-absorbing member mounted therein, and a moisture measurement unit arranged at the top thereof. Thereby the lid can be applied to different sizes of containers for closing openings and absorbing moisture to keep inner space of the container dry and prevent objects stored in the container from deterioration or mold growth. The reuse of containers protects the environment. Users can learn saturation degree of the moisture-absorbing member easily by the moisture measurement unit and further replace or regenerate the moisture-absorbing member.
Description
- The present invention relates to an elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture, especially to an elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture used in different sizes of jars or containers which are often dumped for sealing openings of the jars/containers and removing moisture in the jars/containers. Thus the jars/containers can be reused and this protects the environment. Users can learn saturation degree of moisture-absorbing members used easily and further replace or regenerate the moisture-absorbing members conveniently.
- Taiwan is an island country which features on a humid climate. A wet environment promotes mold growth so that objects stored by people are easy to be moldy and deteriorated after in contact with air for a long time. For convenience of storage, various types of sealed boxes or jars have been developed by people in the business. The sealed containers are used to store objects for protecting the objects from environmental conditions such as air exposure, moisture, mold, etc. Thus the objects are not easy to become deteriorated or moldy.
- Although the above sealed boxes and sealed jars protect the objects stored against the air, moisture, mold, etc., air originally in the sealed boxes and sealed jars still has moisture therein. Thus the objects stored in the boxes/jars may be affected and further have material deterioration and mold growth. The effect and the storage period of the sealed box are still limited.
- Moreover, some people in the business have invented a dehumidifier to keep the storage space dry. Yet such dehumidifier has complicated structure, large volume, and high cost, and requires power supply so that the dehumidifier is not suitable for a smaller or specific space.
- Thus there is room for improvement and there is a need to provide a novel elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture which is more convenient to use.
- Therefore it is a primary object of the present invention to provide an elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture is not only used on different sizes of containers for closing openings of the containers but also for absorbing moisture to keep inner space of the container dry and prevent objects from deterioration or mold growth. Thus the container for storage of objects is more convenient to use and the reuse of the container also protects the environment. Users can learn the moisture saturation degree of a moisture-absorbing member mounted in the lid and decide to replace or regenerate the moisture-absorbing member according to the saturation degree of the moisture-absorbing member.
- In order to achieve the above object, an elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture according to the present invention mainly includes a lid body and a hallow cap.
- The lid body is made of soft and elastic materials and able to fit over an opening of a container.
- The hollow cap is arranged at a center of the lid body and provided with at least one air hole on a bottom thereof and a moisture-absorbing member mounted in the hollow cap.
- Preferably, at least one sensing hole is disposed on a top of the hollow cap and a moisture measurement unit is arranged over the at least one sensing hole for showing the moisture saturation degree of the moisture-absorbing member.
- Preferably, a seal ring is arranged at the circumference of the lid body so that the lid body can close the opening of the container tightly.
- Preferably, the moisture-absorbing member is a block formed by molding of porous powder blended with adhesives.
- Preferably, the moisture-absorbing member can be heated to regenerate for recovering moisture absorption capacity and being reused.
- Preferably, a plurality of grooves are circularly disposed on a surface of the lid body so that the lid body can be stretched up much more due to the grooves.
- Preferably, the id body is made of silicone rubber or rubber.
- Preferably, a plurality of protruding pieces are disposed around and extended outward from the lid body so that the lid body is stretched or removed conveniently through operation of the protruding pieces by users' fingers.
- Preferably, a through hole is formed at the center of the lid body and the hollow cap is mounted and fixed in the through hole. An opening is formed on the bottom of the hollow cap while a plate is movably placed on the opening and provided with the at least one air hole.
- Preferably, the hallow cap is integrally formed on the center of the lid body while an opening is formed on the top of the hallow cap and a plate is movably placed over the opening

FIG. 1 ,FIG. 2 , andFIG. 3 , an elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture according to the present invention includes alid body 1 and ahallow cap 2. - The
lid body 1 is made of soft and elastic materials such as silicone rubber, rubber, etc. and composed of a plurality ofgrooves 11, aseal ring 12, a plurality of protrudingpieces 13, and athrough hole 14. Thegrooves 11 are circularly disposed on a surface of thelid body 1 so that thelid body 1 can be stretched up much more due to thegrooves 11. Theseal ring 12 is arranged at the circumference of thelid body 1 while theprotruding pieces 13 are disposed around and extended outward from theseal ring 12. The throughhole 14 is formed at a center of thelid body 1. - The
hollow cap 2 is mounted and fixed in the throughhole 14. Thehollow cap 2 consists of an opening 21, at least oneair hole 22, at least onesensing hole 23, a moisture-absorbingmember 24, amoisture measurement unit 25, and aplate 26. The opening 21 is formed on a bottom of thehollow cap 2 while theplate 26 is movably placed on the opening 21 and provided with the at least oneair hole 22 for absorbing moisture. The at least onesensing hole 23 is disposed on a top of thehollow cap 2 and the moisture-absorbingmember 24 which is a block formed by molding of porous powder blended with adhesives is mounted in thehollow cap 2. The block-shaped moisture-absorbingmember 24 can be regenerated by being heated to recover the moisture absorption capacity and thus absorb moisture again. Themoisture measurement unit 25 is mounted to the top of thehollow cap 2 and aligned with the respective at least onesensing hole 23 to indicate moisture saturation degree of the moisture-absorbingmember 24. - Refer to
FIG. 4 andFIG. 5 , another embodiment is disclosed. Thehallow cap 2 is integrally formed on the center of thelid body 1 and composed of an opening 21, at least oneair hole 22, at least onesensing hole 23, a moisture-absorbingmember 24, amoisture measurement unit 25, and aplate 26. The at least oneair hole 22 are formed on a bottom of thehallow cap 2 and theopening 21 is formed on a top of thehallow cap 2. Theplate 26 is movably placed on the opening 21 and provided with the at least onesensing hole 23 while the moisture-absorbingmember 24 which is a block formed by molding of porous powder blended with adhesives is mounted in thehollow cap 2. The moisture-absorbingmember 24 can be regenerated by being heated and thus used again. Themoisture measurement unit 25 is arranged at the top end of thehollow cap 2 and aligned with the respective at least onesensing hole 23 for showing degree of saturation of the moisture-absorbingmember 24. - While in use, as shown in
FIG. 6 andFIG. 7 , users can easily remove thelid body 1 due to soft and elastic materials for thelid body 1. At the same time, thestretchable lid body 1 is provided withgrooves 11 arranged at the surface of thelid body 1 circularly so that thelid body 1 can stretch up much more and fit over different types and sizes ofcontainers 3. A secure fit of thelid body 1 around an opening of thecontainer 3 is achieved by theseal ring 12 on the circumference of thelid body 1. Thereby thecontainer 3 is closed by thelid body 1. Now thehallow cap 2 at the center of thelid body 1 is just located in thecontainer 3 so that the moisture-absorbingmember 24 starts absorbing moisture inside theclosed container 3 through the respective at least oneair hole 22 to keep inner space of thecontainer 3 dry and prevent objects stored in the container from deterioration or mold growth. The moisture absorbed by the moisture-absorbingmember 24 can be detected and displayed by themoisture measurement unit 25 through the at least onesensing hole 23 so that users can learn the moisture saturation degree of the moisture-absorbingmember 24 and further take the corresponding response such as replace or regenerate the moisture-absorbingmember 24. - Moreover, when users intend to open the
lid body 1, they can apply force to the protrudingpieces 13 by their fingers conveniently and remove thelid body 1 from the opening of thecontainer 3 easily. - Furthermore, while the moisture-absorbing
member 24 in thehollow cap 2 is saturated and required to be replaced or regenerated, the upper or theplate 26 of thehallow cap 2 is opened and the moisture-absorbingmember 24 is taken out through theopening 21. Then the moisture-absorbingmember 24 is heated to regenerate for recovering moisture absorption capacity or the moisture-absorbingmember 24 is replaced by a new one directly. Thereby the moisture-absorbingmember 24 starts to work again. - In summary, the present invention has the following advantages compared with the techniques available now:
- 1. The present invention can be applied to jars or containers in different sizes for reuse. The stretchable lid made of soft and elastic material seals the container while covering the opening of the container to form various types of airtight containers or moisture proof sealed jar. The reuse of jars/containers helps protect the environment.
- 2. Through the at least one air hole, the moisture-absorbing member in the hollow cap removes residual moisture inside the sealed container to keep the inside of the container dry and further prevent objects stored in the container from deterioration or mold growth. The container is more convenient to use.
- 3. Users can learn the moisture saturation degree of the moisture-absorbing member by the moisture measurement unit to replace or regenerate the moisture-absorbing member by heating in time. Thereby the moisture absorption capacity is maintained and the moisture-absorbing member absorbs moisture continuously.
- Additional advantages and modifications will readily occur to those skilled in the art. Therefore, the invention in its broader aspects is not limited to the specific details, and representative devices shown and described herein. Accordingly, various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the general inventive concept as defined by the appended claims and their equivalent.
Claims (10)
1. An elastic stretchable lid capable of absorbing moisture comprising a lid body and a hallow cap;
wherein the lid body is made of soft and elastic materials and able to fit over an opening of a container; and
the hollow cap is arranged at a center of the lid body and provided with at least one air hole on a bottom of the hollow cap and a moisture-absorbing member mounted in the hollow cap.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one sensing hole is disposed on a top of the hollow cap and a moisture measurement unit is arranged over the at least one sensing hole for showing moisture saturation degree of the moisture-absorbing member.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a seal ring is arranged at the circumference of the lid body so that the lid body is able to close the opening of the container tightly.
4. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the moisture-absorbing member is a block formed by molding of porous powder blended with adhesives.
5. The device as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the moisture-absorbing member can be heated to regenerate for recovery of moisture absorption capacity and reuse.
6. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a plurality of grooves are circularly disposed on a surface of the lid body so that the lid body can be stretched up much more due to the grooves.
7. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the id body is made of material selected from the group consisting of silicone rubber and rubber.
8. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a plurality of protruding pieces are disposed around and extended outward from the lid body so that the lid body is stretched or removed conveniently through operation of the protruding pieces by fingers.
9. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a through hole is formed at the center of the lid body and the hollow cap is mounted and fixed in the through hole; an opening is formed on the bottom of the hollow cap while a plate is movably placed on the opening and provided with the at least one air hole.
10. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the hallow cap is integrally formed on the center of the lid body while an opening is formed on the top of the hallow cap and a plate is movably placed over the opening.
